292: Mythical Monster Mafia- Game over

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Sun Mar 05, 2006 4:39 pm

Post by EnderX »

On an island located somewhere in the Pacific ocean, a group of twelve individuals stand looking around. Before they can start wandering off, another person comes to stand in the middle of them, a young man wearing blue jeans and a black shirt with
MythCensus
emblazoned across the back.

"Hello, everyone. I'm EnderX, and I'll be your host for this MythCensus session. I'd like for everyone to get settled in; we've got some areas set aside for everyone to sleep and eat, so feel free to make yourselves at home."

A hand shoots up from the back, and a voice rings out. "What's with these disguises? Why can't we just look like our normal selves?"

"A good question," says EnderX, "but one with an answer. You're all in disguise to prevent a repeat of the incident last year where the Roc tried to eat the Lambton Worm. Great Britain refused to ever participate in our surveys unless we did something to remedy that." Looking out over the rest of the crowd, he asked "Any more questions? No? In that case, I'll let you get settled in."

A thought seems to strike the man as he turns away. "We've heard rumors that something or someone is planning to disrupt the census proceedings. You'll need to be on guard for that, I think."

Still being counted-(Players in bold have confirmed):

Game Rules (Stolen [and refinished] from Crola, who apparently stole them from himself)

1) No foul language or insults to your fellow players or mod. Doing so could lead to replacement or mod kill.

2) When you're dead, you're dead. No more posts from you, none. Not even "Arghh," posts. If you still feel you must talk about the game and it's conspiracies, you may only talk with me. All dead posts will be erased.

3) Do not talk with anybody about the game, outside of the game at any time. Unless, of course, I tell you to, in which you can only talk at night.

4) Night deadlines will be two to three real days, unless another deadline is made by me. Morning deadlines will not be made unless the game comes to what looks like a stop, or if there's like only two people talking about hats or something.

5) If you need extensions on anything, please ask and I'll be happy to help. Also, if you are not going to be here (on the site) for any reason, please PM me, I will have absolutely no way of knowing otherwise. I will tell the rest of the players you will be gone.

6 ) Just like in real life, what you say has been said, so think before you speak. This means no editing or erasing your posts. Also, NO QUOTING MY PMS. This means no quoting any PMS I've given you whatsoever.

7) If you have questions about the game feel free to chat with me via PM.

8) Oh, this rule goes without saying, please bold your votes, and unvote when you unvote. A majority of votes will result in an execution. A No Execution can be voted for the same way, this way you can all go to sleep with a good conscience in your head. When someone's dead, unvotes won't save them.

9) No secret or invisible texts please, you may write only in visible English.

10) There are no exceptions to the rules.

All confirmations in.

EnderX looks up from a checklist in front of him. "Yeah, it looks like we've got everybody here. You'll find the meal and shelter stations over that way," he says, pointing behind him. "It's getting kind of dark, so I'll let you go for the night. Everyone show up tomorrow morning, and we'll try to kick things off then."

Dawn will be at 1:00 PM Eastern Time, on 3/12/06. All nightchoices need to be in by then, including an 'I'm not going to' if such is necessary.

Day dawned brightly over the ocean. Gradually, the group came back to the clearing where EnderX stood waiting for them.

In the center, however, they found their host standing over the fallen body of one of their own, Turbovolver. EnderX pulled a letter from the fallen's pocket, and read it to the group.

I would like to welcome you to the MythCensus, sir. I'm still not exactly sure why you wanted to join, given that you left that line blank on your entry form, but we're happy to include you nonetheless. I wish you well in your participation.
MythCensus
EnderX

Solemnly, EnderX turned off the disguise machinery on Turbovolver. The human disguise vanished, leaving behind a strange plantlike creature, or maybe a creaturelike plant. Whichever it was, the poor thing was wilted like week-old lettuce.

Turbovolver, Vegetable Lamb of Tartary, wilted night one.

With eleven alive, it's six to lynch.

The first post says Turbovolver was a protown sheep.

Looks like the "Vegetable Lamb" was actually a myth surrounding cotton. By the title "protown sheep", it doesn't sound to me like Turbo would have had any abilities...

It wasn't me. It was your "father in law". Who can blame him after finding his poor goat no more pristine. I don't really care for much for your preferences.

Did the sheep not want in on the action?
Is that why it's dead? *eyebrow*

Hm, interesting that the plant was "wilted". This is a manner of dying that only makes sense for a plant, so the nightscenes may not give us any useful information about the nature of the baddies. Then again, it probably doesn't matter.

Anyways, random

I dunno, SKs are hardly uncommon... best not to make any assumptions yet.

You'd prefer more nightkills? So your scum group would need less time to get rid of all the townies?

I was more thinking in the direction of a cult, or a mafia blocker who blocked a SK. Don't get hasty.

I don't like d_rouge's vote on FD. It is absurd to interpret FD's statement as an admission of scumminess.

Unvote Astronaut, vote d_rouge.
