when I was here last (I tend to show up play 3-4 games burn myself out and go away for a few years) I only ever played 1 daytalk game and I was scum and it felt so OP it was ridiculous.

I've played 4 games this time (and looks like I burnt myself out again) and it was 3 out of the 4 games had daytalk. Though it seems I timed my return at a point when the admins are testing daytalk in newbie games.

I actually prefer without day talk personnally

Both as scum and town. It makes the individual players more important during the day and gives much greater weight on pressuring players with your vote.

Though credit to the scum team/mod it didn't enter my thought if this game had day chat or not, either that or a serious mistake on my part again

Yeah. I played scum once with day chat and thor665 was my partner. You can imagine how that game went. Scum destroyed town.

I am actually mistaken I saw 3 day chat games before but 2 of them were day chat for only as long as a certain role was alive and I'm not kidding both games had different mods but the same player thor665 had that role in both of them

The times I have had daytalk as scum have been great!! In one of those games, it was absolutely the thing that won it for us. The other one, we used it a ton. I think the key is to actually use it. If you do, it can be super powerful for scum.

Yeah reading the one for this. I can't believed you meta me on the tho policy. Makes me feel important. But also annoyed that I'm being read so easily. You can see my decline this game rapidly over the scum chat of day 2. From being someone you were unsure about on day 1 to being an easy lynch end of day 2. :*(

LOL-I gotta laugh that the Masons were scumreading us and the scum thought we were obvtown. Gotta be cuz we were a hydra. I've never gotten such opposite reads before like that.

@Bastion: sorry! I think some of it was just not meshing well with this crowd; I don't know about you but some games everybody townreads me for whatever reason and then other games a different group of people scumread me for the same reason and I always find it pretty confusing.

@SilverWolf: you were obvtown not by people's stances in the thread neccessarily but by the votecounts. nobody was voting you except for us. you might not have been everybody's top townread and people were pushing you and interacting with you but nobody was interested in trying to get you lynched and this game that's all we really needed to worry about, at least on day 1.

I also really really really didn't want to mislynch you guys and I'd said that pregame and then BBT was pushing you anyway because he would have pushed those things as town he said. We did want to mislynch harder targets than we ended up mislynching; the deadline scrambles were pretty stressful for us because it meant we had to keep lynching people we were trying to keep around for LYLO but we just couldn't get it together in time for the deadline.

I had paranoia you were pushing more towards bc because you and bastion were partners because I had a stronger read on bastion. I was trying to figure out why my town read thought bc was more scummy than my strongest scum read. I panic as town in lylo and get impatient.

The mod seems to be using one of those countdown mechanisms in the vote counts. So as of this moment, like right now, there was a day. We still had time to figure it out and talk it out. Give Bastion some time to defend himself, etc.

My advice to you, Dwlee, don't rush it and follow your own words that you said at the beginning of the day.

In 5p lylo, you should ask the others you are townreading if they are o.k. with you voting someone. Remember that for future games. Scum with daytalk can easily quickhammer. I just got done with a scumgame with daytalk where we did the exact same thing-open 613. A townie voted town almost right away in 5p lylo, my partner and I were able to hammer together and coordinate that easily. Now I know you didn't know scum had daytalk but you didn't know they didn't. So that's my advice if you find yourself in lylo as town in the future. Be patient. It sucks for the rest of town if you rush things and lose it.

On the flip side, if you are patient, and look at every angle, and still pick wrong, then you did all you can do and that's o.k. That just means scum played well and that happens. But remember town is a team game and scum will always leave you alive for lylo if you have a history of rash behavior and impatience. Re-read and re-ISO those alive for starters. Look at the reads of dead players and associations with flipped scum. Like Pignash had cases on town painting them as scum that should of been looked at for example. Lylo is the time to re-examine everything.

Yeah I thought I cleared bastion and spiffeh with my cases but they got lynched in order.

Yea, my bad. I was wholeheartedly against the spiffeh wagon. Spiffeh shouldnt have hammered himself. We had no proof that the vote stealer couldnt use its power again so it could be argued as against win con. I really wish we could of just no lynched twice in a tlrow as the spiffeh lybch was a big mistake yhat I knew would be a mislynch. I will keep in mind asking my town reads if I can vote because in my scum games town have actually quickvoted. At least I waited a little bit. I am almosy certain I was not changing my read on bastion.
