Why is Arc scum? I think it’s fair for someone completely new to Vorkuta to express a town read on him based on the strike throughs. He often strikes through things that are very tongue-in-cheek which can be read unlikely to come from scum due to the attention it draws.

I don’t have a brain then. I didn’t get the impression that Croag had a guilty because there wasn’t much of a push to get enough associations.

Cop for scum is a good trade. Even better if you're something weaker like tracker, etc. Deciding to try and lynch a guilty without an out is a gambit, and should not be used in the typical case. I think it’s unlikely for a newer player to try that.

I think Creature lurking was NAI (he did say somewhere he was taking a leave). However, Fonz push on RD doesn't feel genuine. I think he is more likely to actually try and make a case as town (one short-lives experience with him). I would have expected him to engage RD more if he did SR him.

I’d agree if he was showing actual signs of being death tunneling. Death tunneling, as in tunneling until the player dies, without discussion or laying off or reconsideration at any point. I think scum are more likely to try to push the narrative that RD’s play is extremely anti-town out the wazoo then practically cast a naked vote and dip.

I mean, lying alone is a strong enough scumtell that I'm 100% happy to lynch on that alone. But see the above: His play doesn't feel like town faking "for reactions" because when he gets CCed, he jumps straight to assuming it's a 1v1 and trying to discredit the person accusing him.

I disagree. I think underclaiming is almost always fine until a massclaim happens, and overclaiming (saying you have more shots or are slightly more powerful than you actually are) can be okay in some situations too

I sort of understood where Mysterious was coming from due to the lack of familiarity the majority of the site has with the visitor. It’s essentially does nothing, but by existing it does have some nice utility as either alignment. I don’t think many designers care for it though.

To clarify on my statement, I'm saying that RD is Scum based on everything that has been outlined.

If he was Informed, then sure, that's fine. It would help the Tracker(s) know that their roles aren't 100% accurate. But then he claimed Tracker on top of that on the first day. And then on Night 2 after he visited Vault, he confirmed Vault's actions, causing Vault to claim he's Ascetic. Then, RD backpedals to claim Visitor afterwards for literally no reason other than maybe the actual tracker coming out. Keep in mind, on the (at the time un cc'd) Tracker claim, if he was Tracker, then he would have at least gone somewhere on Night 1 to check somebody, which he didn't.

The sudden backpedal makes it all the more suspicious. Admittedly, I only thought of the roles that were in the game that I was aware of when I made the RD is the Ninja post. The Ninja gives a false result, which is what Rick claims his role does. That's why I thought he was the Mafia Ninja. I still think that RD is scum based on the previous actions and how none of it lines up in my mind.

It’s suspicious but I think it comes down to whether you believe the reaction testing he’s done was worth the disruption it has caused. You clearly don’t but I think getting VD to claim ascetic outweighs the tracker claim from Lapsa’s slot. VD’s reasoning is a lot more suspicious to me. And maybe it’s because I can write off RD’s claim as typical Boon/Flavor Leaf shenanigans but I just don’t think town withhold that modifier in order to catch someone in a lie. Too convenient for my taste.

Not sure the tracker dying makes Mumble scum. I mean could see it, he hasn’t exactly been playing a pro-town game or leaving a town of reads. He hasn’t tried to avoid being a kill target either because his play has been worth a vigilante shot. I just can’t escape the feeling that it feels a bit too easy.

It seems like you’re devaluing the individual player though by simply dismissing the VT player as worthless simply based on their role. A strong VT player playing a good game can be dangerous to scum and a great idea for a bodyguard to guard.

I think that’s a discussion to have for post game.

What I will say is that one can argue that if as town, you have an opportunity to die and flip in a game without bringing scum closer to their win condition, you should normally take it; it gives town more information (the fact that you were town), which both helps them trust your reads and reduces the chance that you get mislynched, and the only downside is that you can't give public opinions on what happens in the rest of the game.
