@RichardGHP: Don't think that has ever happened to me as i haven't played in quite a while and only played 2 or 3 games before i stopped.
If it happened, depending on the situation and how the person played i would probably not announce it but would keep an extra careful eye on what they say incase they made a not to noticable slip so i could try and direct peoples attention to the scum.Musher-scum would not be clever enough to do something like this- Strife 220-

@farside:
What is your view on policy lynching?
My view on lynching is that pressure should be applied when someone gives off scumtells, lynching shouldn't happen unless
A)you are wanting specific information off the flip which may help find scum
Or B) Pressure has been applied, the person has tried to defend themselves through a claim and failed to give a beleivable reply and as such you believe there is a comfortable chance of them being scum.
Do you think scum or town lurk more?
Often it seems the people least likely to lurk are vanilla townies, scum (unless quite experienced) either tend to be extremely active to try and act pro town, or lurk to try and give off less scum tells (neither of which work to well). Similar can be said with pro town rolls such as cops who keep fairly quiet to try and reduce the chance of scum picking up on them having extra information and as such NK'ing them.
As such it is probably inexperienced scum who lurk the most.
How active are you here at MS?
I have this window open most of the time while active in a game when i am online.Musher-scum would not be clever enough to do something like this- Strife 220-

I would say its more about avoiding a simple question than it being specifically due to having an alt. Not answering questions is hardly ever a townish thing to do.Cirno wrote:
Mister, if this is about the alt, you are fighting for a lost cause.crypto wrote:Unvote. Vote: Cirno.
Would be interested in hearing an answer to that question anyway.Musher-scum would not be clever enough to do something like this- Strife 220-

I'm not saying this specific case is anti town, more that normally if you sidestep around a question your better giving an answer including something along the lines of "That question isn't helpful in this game so i won't answer it".Ythan wrote:
I don't like that you're portraying this incident as anti-town denial of information.Musher333 wrote:I would say its more about avoiding a simple question than it being specifically due to having an alt. The phrasing threw me off a bit, i find straight forward answers much easier to understand and much easier to put in a discussion. Each to their own on how you speak i guess.Ythan wrote:
How does this differ significantly?Cirno wrote:You are pretty rude, mister! Asking a girl about her alt is the same as asking her about her age! Have some tact, please!
Also I swear her avatar just changed.Musher-scum would not be clever enough to do something like this- Strife 220-

No but it does mean tomorrow i'll be re-reading everything and i'll then give a person by person analysis which will invlude any suspicions i get by then.Ythan wrote:If you think RVS is over does that mean you have suspicions?Musher-scum would not be clever enough to do something like this- Strife 220-

Ok here is the player by player analysis, any players missed out of it means either they haven't talked, have only said an "I'm here message" or i have no read on.
Crypto - His answers seem quite short and non engaging in the topic, although he posts quite often he doesn't seem to put much detail in what he says which to me gives a slightly scummy feel as if he is trying not to say much incase he gives away information he doesn't want to.
Cirno - Talks in an odd way, seemingly due to playstyle. Similarily to Crypto she doesn't seem to be posting in much detail however her answers also don't seem to be helping aid the discussion along which gives a scummy vibe to me.FoS Cirno.
Dedicated Scribe - Voted without giving a reason and said they feel they will have no reason to change their vote for the rest of the day. Without giving a reason this makes no sense to say so a reason would be nice.
Also talks about not waiting and wanting to get ahead with the day as soon as possible, rushing is never a good idea as it gives a bigger chance of a mislynch before we have gathered enough information.
Gives a slightly scummy vibe at the moment.
Ythan - Talks a fair amount and seems to ask the right questions of people, at the moment he gives a pro town vibe to me.
This hasn't included many players but it has included the players i felt i should comment on. If i have missed anyone out you want to know my feelings on ask and i'll write an analysis on them.Musher-scum would not be clever enough to do something like this- Strife 220-

Farside - Seems fairly town at the moment, put a good vote on richard earlier which caused him to crumble and as such made him look like anti town hiding something.
Scum instantly have more information than vanilla townies as they know who is scum (and in a game with basic roles) who is town. This information can expose them if they comment on someone with something that makes it sound like they know the side that person is part of.crypto wrote:
How would this technique benefit scum?trying not to say much incase he gives away information he doesn't want to
I'm not liking Richard's play at the moment but as he has a few votes on him for now i'll justFos : Richardtill he comments a bit more.Musher-scum would not be clever enough to do something like this- Strife 220-

2 of the 3-4 full games i've played were in road to rome so that might be why, but in my experience scum either tend to be really chatty and co-operative or in the habit of lurking.crypto wrote:
Why do you assume newbs aren't scum?jbernier93 wrote:
Or we can try actually looking for scum?Ythan wrote:

When I first started playing mafia, my posts where highly similar to his, in that they had no content in them and consisted of dumb things.
Meh. Scum can generate in-depth content just fine in my experience.Musher333 wrote:Scum instantly have more information than vanilla townies as they know who is scum (and in a game with basic roles) who is town.
