It wasn't a coincidence. It was fate. I had always been the engineer of Engine 23 from the beginning and while it was always a little eerie on there, nothing BAD had ever happened before. Until now, that is. On the twenty-third day of December in the year 2012, I witnessed events that I do not care to repeat. But I will anyway. It was on this day that twenty-three people all boarded my train to go to the same destination. It started innocently enough. But things quickly took a turn for the worse. Clouds suddenly covered the sky and it began to rain. Hard. It was supposed to be sunny that day. Then, suddenly, an awful fog blanketed the ground around us. It was so thick; we couldn’t even see where we were going anymore. I knew something was going wrong, something awful…what the hell was going on? Panic quickly engulfed the train. Something needed to be done and quick. I decided to take charge in order to establish some sort of organization to this chaos. It worked at first and we started to discuss the situation rationally. Of course, then someone turned up dead. And then I was shot. But that’s the next part of the story.

• 1. I am the Mod. Mod rhymes with God. Therefore, in this game, I am God. Deal with it. If you have a problem or a question, PM me or use bold text in this format:

  2. Be civil to each other. If you feel this rule is being violated, PM me with your complaint and the offending posts.
  3. Using or attempting to use loopholes in the rules to fulfill your win condition is not cool.
  4. No small or invisible text, making codes, using the structure of the role PM to your advantage, general jackassery...you know, bad stuff. I don't like quoting the role PM either.
  5. No editing or deleting your posts for ANY reason.
  6. Roles triumph rules. If there is a conflict between the rules and the role, the role wins.
  7. Do not communicate about the game outside of this thread.
  8. When you're dead, you stay dead. No "bah" post. Nothing.
  9. Modkills automatically mean you lose the game. You automatically become a Neutral Survivor which means that you lose. Period. Modkill = loss.
  10. I will decide all rule-breaking on a case-by-case basis. Modkills are mine to use when I see fit but that doesn't mean I will. Forced replacement is more likely to happen.

  12. Any of the rules in all the game are fit to be changed. More rules may be added and rules may be removed. I will inform the town if this happens, however.

Gameplay

• 1. All votes and unvotes should be

  4. Any option for the town requires a majority of votes. The majority will be stated in every votecount but will generally be defined as (n/2 + 1) with even numbers and (n/2 + .5) with odd numbers.
  5. Players can vote to not take action or null vote. If enough null votes are reached to make any other choice impossible, no action will be taken(aka no lynch).
  6. If a majority is not reached by the specified deadline, the null action will be taken.

Deadlines and Prods

• 1. Two weeks from when a day officially begins is the minimum deadline for each day.
  2. If there is sufficient activity and requests for replacements, I will extend this deadline one week.
  3. I will extend the deadline one day for every replacement that enters the game during the Day phase if the replaced player requests it.
  4. Any non-Day phases(Night, Twilight, Dawn, etc) will have variable deadlines which will be specified in rule 4a.
  4a. Night will last 72 hours after the day ends.
  5. A prod will go out if the player is inactive for 72 hours or more without notifying the mod of V/LA or other issues.
  6. A player can be prodded three times before being replaced.
  7. If the about-to-be-prodded player makes a post before he is actually prodded, he will dodge that prod.
  8. I will prod on request though this may or may not count on their prod count, depending.

No one really expects to get shot. I mean, it wasn't completely my fault. As soon as the fog came down and the fecal matter hit the rotating blades, I was sorta in panic mode. The screams coming down the corridor didn't help in the slightest.

When we arrived at the scene, the gory gorefest of some random businessman's gory guts greeted us. Some stared, some vomited, some pretended to vomit, and one man pretended to pretend to vomit while staring. He was definitely dead meaning we were in deep, deep shit.

In the resulting disgusting confusion, a few gunshots went off, one of which happened to pierce my skull. When the smoke cleared, I was a ghost and the remaining 23 passengers were in even deeper fecal matter. As a ghost, I knew that I had to quickly resolve the matter before everyone was mowed down by guns. So, I did the only thing I knew how to do in my five seconds as a ghost, which was write creepy messages in blood.

"Help" I wrote, "Don't shoot, dumbasses. Killers are afoot."

"No shit," said a smartass in the back row.

"Obvious statements are obvious," said another.

"Shut up" I wrote, obviously pissed off. "You need to find the killers before they kill you using your amazing...erm, intellect."

"Hey, is that sarcasm? I can never tell on the internet."

"NO U!"

"No, seriously. I suggest using a voting system and a rope so people will die in an organized manner" I scrawled.

The others agreed that this was agreeable and thusly, the world's deadliest game of Mafia at the end of the world began to end.
