This is my third game.

Transcend might be softclaiming a vengeful role. This seems scummy to me, though I can't explain quite why. Would scum have motivation to do this? Would town?

In both cases, to avoid the lynch.
And soft the fact they have a role.

Do you think it would more likely to come from a scum or townie viewpoint? I haven't dealt with softclaiming before.

I actually think he is just trash talking, with regards to that. The normal role, if he had it, would have him pick who dies from his wagon or just kill whoever the hammer vote was.

well since you're new here i'll be the first to say that a decent portion of people like to troll around in the beginning stage of the game and claim/soft roles that they aren't. i may or may not be vengeful, you won't know that until a later time, however it's best not to assume anything. i don't want you to get the wrong idea or anything.

if you want i can provide examples of me trolling in the beginning stages of the game as both alignments.
