His progression on our pair does not hold up when you actually try to break it down, analyze his thought processes and try to find his motivation from a town POV compared to a scum one.

Okay, I'm gonna take some time and look at the players as individuals. I think it's a big mistake to be looking at this as pairs, because that's a skill set none of us have as much experience honing. If we pretend this is a normal mafia game it'll probably be easier to grok.

Bitmap - Objectively, I suck at reading bitmap. I think that this is >rand scum, but I don't trust myself to be right.
Firebringer - In my experience, Firescum tends to be less aggressive with his meming. He's clearly not afraid to die here (and lowkey seems to want it). I'm pretty sure this is the townbringer I spent a nice night with a maid cafe some time ago. I'd leave to let him endgame. Also, admitting that he didn't do shit in the neighborhood last night seems like a town move, and not doing shit in the neighborhood ALSO seems like a town move.
GuyInFreezer - My gut is telling me this is town, but I can't actually remember the last time I saw GiF scum. I do think his insistence that bitmap is town when he's admittedly not trying to read him through the PT is scummy though.
Gamma Emerald - GE got angry when Nim was pushed, ig? That's not really a towntell though. Like, as scum I'd be pretty pissed about someone 'bullying' through a lynch on my partner. I'd probably lynch this.
OkaPoka - Oka went balls in on painting chenn as scummy when croag was left in the wind. He burned just about every bridge and he seemed to genuinely think the croag flip was going to be town. I don't see OkaScum being the kind of mastermindy bastard scum to fake a twilight deathtunnel on town as scum. I don't see RC or Pine's name on the PL, so I doubt he was coached to it by a scumpartner either. I could be wrong, but if so, I have absolutely 0 reservations losing to this.
Nimueh - Similar to GE, this was a super genuine twilight that doesn't necessarily mean town.
Sakura Hana - I still kinda tone read this scum. I'm also aware that I have a really unfortunate association in my head from forever ago that predisposes me to scumreading her, despite the fact that I think we rarely if ever played together.
pienyan - Individually, I think this is town, although not on par with either member of Foka.
chennisden - If scum, I think his partner is comparitively lynchbaity. The read on me is a little :thorface: and has been since the beginning. The self meta that he's more lynchbaity as scum jives pretty well with my recollections, though, which is why this is still a >rand town slot in my eyes. He also spent most of last night trying to bleed me for as much spec as he could when I outright said that I didn't think speccing prior to seeing the nk was important. I'm 100% sure he thought I thought he was locktown until just now though.


I think, from this, that the only possibility for a double scum slot would be Gamma/Nim, but that that pairing being scum together would be crazy unlikely.

I think, objectively, that I'd like to lynch GiFmap or Nimerald.

The question is largely moot. I'd never have made the decision myself here. I'd have discussed with croag and third scumbuddy in the pt, drawn it out, and made a big showing of how town I was while choosing between you.

My scum meta is to adopt one of three scum strats based on the playerlist and their expectations of me as well as the competency of my partners. If I thought I could propel my third partner to endgame based on it, I would absolutely have paired with you. I don't give a shit about endgaming, and in fact prefer setting up a different scum to deepwolf when I have the opportunity, just like I did with Dunn in Succinct mafia.

I have the ability to powerwolf and take over the town, but it's not my go to move. That's why my ideal scum partner is someone like RC. I can set him up to be townread when I flip but stay around long enough to make sure that I'm going to be able to take over if he gets fucked by mechanics.

Monday I dropped a couple of associative based clears on Oka/GiF and outright admitted to not having read the game.

I scumread GR, but didn't want to push there because I thought keeping Ank around until lategame was positive equity. I reiterated I wasn't gonna tryhard.

I admitted to a lack of experience with sakura and pie, and commented that the pressure falling on chenn and not me in the light of a croag flip was super hinky. Notably, chenn was freaking out around that time about how all the reads on him were garbagetier.

Chenn, at this point expresses that no one is pushing me because I haven't done anything to push and that he fully trusts me as town. I promise that I'll make lynching us feel like pulling teeth, and he calms down.

I made pretty much the same point about bit that I just made, and then said something about 2278, which apparently I did not like at all. I'm not sure what post that was, but presumably it makes me dislike bitmap. Chenn hard agrees on bitmap, then immediately returns to worrying about paranoia about us.

Chenn expresses tr on Vec, I agree with Ank's posts. I promise to ISO when I have time, then leave to play with an insurance company (Good news btw, they decided to over cover me because of the giant fucking pita they put me through with the paperwork chasing and I'm getting about twice what I rightfully should under my coverage because they're trying to appease me for being fuckwits).

I come back to agree Pie is town AF and that further, the Ank interactions make them mutually strong townreads. I double down on a Vecna sr after reading the ISO, and chenn agrees saying he pushed for Choag, but pretty quickly decides that he wants to play around Vecna town. I decide I'm gonna straight up sheep ank because all of my sr's (fire/bit/sakura) at this point are people I don't trust myself to accurately scumread.

I note that Vec was not one of the people who pushed us post croag and had in fact been absent. The people who had, for reference, are Sakura and GR. Clearly GR is not a concern, but this implies to me that Sakura is not S/S with Chenn.

I note that Vec has little partner equity with any living player, but that I want to see how people react to the wagon before weighing in to break the wagon ITT, and chen agrees. I also note that I expect Ausuka to be one of the more readable slots as she starts posting and interacting more, because it's my impression that she mostly plays mafia to be town.

I hard disagree and we spend like two hours talking about how the setup could be better. The rest of page 9 is all NAI about how you should always expect the worst because then you get pleasant surprises not shitty ones and similar shit.

You know, 100%, that you are town. That means that you have at worst a 50% chance of hitting scum if you lynch outside of your pair, potentially a 100% chance

If you leave, and the scum is in a pair together, you outright lose. If you lynch for Pie's potential partner, then you can still leave the following day if you hit. If you don't hit, you wouldn't have won via leaving. If you hit doublescum, you would have lost by leaving and instead you win the game.

The pairings are significantly less informative since generally half the pairings are basically forced.

I talked about this in our PT, which I support releasing if that was ever a question, but my problem with gay dance is the not insignificant potential for all scum to be in the same dating pool. Which means that during predance they're pretty well forced to interact heavily and introduces a level of swing that is inferior to normal dance, a setup which I already think is balanced based on town being bad at logic which is a pretty meh setup marker imo.
