I’ll fullclaim because I don’t see myself getting my wincon without help.

I’m an Absorber, which means any non-factional ability used on me will fail and I’ll get a 1-shot use of that ability. It was a Town role, but after I asked for a plaintext version of the PM I got told I’m a 3p with the wincon to use 2 gained 1-shot abilities.

Actually double checking my original PM I don’t think it was meant to be Town in the first place. The area box is labeled 3p but the wincon at the bottom was the Town wincon and I confirmed as a Hillbilly Absorber.

So it was more likely a mod error in my original role PM.

One thing I will add is that earlier it was suggested that the divide between people wanting me dead and those who don’t was between old and new players, but the divide I was seeing was people who’ve seen my scumgame were willing to let me live while those who haven’t seen it want me dead. Logical was the player who doesn’t fit this though, unless they’re an alt, and he was setting off my buddying alarms with his posts. Set ups are on average balanced so that claiming on day 1 is unwise. While it is possible that this does not apply to this game, it is reasonable to infer that scum have a way of messing with open plans to break the game at night. And, if he is lying, regardless of his alignment (other3p vs scum), then none of that matters.

Scum are never going to kill the 3rd party at night. That is a bizarre fantasy. For one, he is an easy "non-scum" elimination during the day. For two, 3ps have a higher rate of night kill protection than other roles. And he won't be killed if he's scum.

I don't see A50 happening today given his new perkiness, and I don't know what to make of his new perkiness.

Let me reorder these though: You received the PM about the day start. You didn't receive any notifications about any 1-shot abilities gained. You PM'd the mod to verify he didn't forget. Now, why did you talk about it here before he responded? THAT is the starting question, because if you had waited you would not have had to announce you receive/didn't receive anything, so why did you do that knowing it would draw some negative flack your way, and you did it before you were even sure it is the case (and it turned out not to be the case)?

2 reasons:

1) I am acting with full transparency in this game.

2) I tend to assume no mod error before mod error so my belief at the time was that I was not targeted at all and I was incredibly annoyed. There was a more colorful way I was going to phrase that announcement but I didn’t want to be an ass just in case there was a mod error. And obviously I’m still a bit annoyed.

All that said I’m also in the “Logical is prob Town” camp at this point. I don’t really see scum coming into this Day claiming to have targeted me and then not using it to push me.

Gun to my head I’d say TL is the likeliest scum of you 3 but I’ve also seen Town TL and he doesn’t make sense sometimes.

My first impression to that post was sternly this: Why would town even be thinking about the possibility of getting fake guiltied? The chance of a guilty being called out is something scum is much more likely to have on their mind. Pre-empting it with a sound good "ill take a lynch if it happens, but you better lynch the 3p after" just doesnt add anything of value, and duh.

Town players fake results often enough that it’s reasonable for someone to think it could happen to them from a 3rd party.

Looking at the role PMs of A50 and TL, I’m inclined to agree with Bingle that biscuits was more likely to be a signal between Traitor and scum.

Logical is backing Thun’s claim so Thun can only be scum if Logicalicaltist is also scum and they’re willing to tie themselves to each other like this which is extremely unlikely.

The poison comment from Username is odd. There is a phrase called “poisoning the well” which is common. It’s not exactly the same thing as what Username was saying but it could be in the same vein. To call it damning hinges on the scumteam knowing something incredibly specific about A50’s role. That knowledge could be possible if they rolecopped A50 or if they reflected the biscuit back at A50 and were informed what they reflected. Given the above point that Thun almost certainly killed chk, the simplest and most likely explanation of A50’s death is that the scumteam killed him and they would not have done that if they thought A50 was their Traitor so the signaling hypothesis falls apart here. For it to hold up the scumteam has to be exactly Thun, Logical, and Username, and I just don’t see scum tying themselves to each other for a vig claim after losing one. I doubt there are even 3 more scum remaining because 4 group scum + 1 traitor with the potential to have 3 kills a Night is too much power, even for a bastard game.

It might not be right now but I’m going to go through A50’s iso and see what their reads were like. I can’t remember how most people were reading A50 at the time. Was he widely Townread?
