Riceballtail:
You pretty much turn this around and say that Fate is the one who keeps us from playing this game. Despite the pressure on you, I've only seen one post that's not concerned much with "playing the game" but rather focused on perceived slights. (1) Do you think that Reck and others' focus on policy lynching you is something they would be more likely to do as town or scum? Explain. (2) Also, your offer to lynch implies that keeping you alive but lynching Fate will result in a better game for the town. What's your offer? What makes having you around superior?

Make sure you answer
both
of those questions, don't avoid them. If you ignore either, I will not hesitate to join the clique's bandwagon and get rid of you.
---

I'm willing to put my thumb on the scale when a player is generally anti-town whether they're town or scum, but I'm unwilling to lynch solely on that basis within the first few days. That said, this seems as promising a route as any.

Yeah. My apologies. I'm still here, but every time I think I have time to catch up something else has come up.

As for the littlefinger thing, I don't think my play has been similar here, and even if it were, why would I play the same as known scum as unknown scum?

So catching up with this game is first priority after making sure TM is going okay, which it looks to be for now. Would anyone like me to focus my attention on anyone in particular?

Okay. I've skimmed through Tierce. What bothers you about her? She does not play particularly scummy to me. She seems to be both trying to find scum and clear some town in her head, trying to make sense of the large numbers of players here.

I isoed SOO too. And I don't see the case there. His play looked not dissimilar to his play in the newbie game I quickly scanned where he was town.

I like the Shadow Dancer wagon, actually. Mostly because of his last post (1213). And it's not so much for hypocrisy (after all, who am I to judge this game?), but because of WHO he selects to focus on. I've been pretty much entirely useless this game, yet my name isn't on there. But he picks DRey in the end because... why? No idea. Also, he throws out something about vi and justin but didn't elaborate. I'm still trying to get my head around why he'd say this as town OR scum and not elaborate. I wonder if he's working off of someone else's QT comments and is too lazy to figure out how to post about it right.

I need to read more comprehensively before actually placing a vote, but from the very limited reading I've done, Shadow Dancer would be my first pick. Lots of others still to cover, however.

Lots of interest in me it seems. I am, however, not scum.

I don't understand how JT so simply dismisses SD. Because he could have hopped on SoO? So what? Maybe he felt like that would have gotten him more attention and he didn't want to be on a mislynch. It doesn't seem particularly hard to fathom.

That's a pretty one way "interaction" between Al and SD. It could very well be one person trying to distance and the other scum not paying enough attention to play his part.

Still, I take your point. Other fields may be more fertile to plow. The Zoraster field, however, is full of rocks.

For a game that had one death last night and two the night before, you sure are set on multiscum speculation.

Anyway, snifit seems to be going for the restrained towny thing. Not sure if it's set up or not.

Why Staeg, JT?

Which, well, you know

Maybe I've got a super-secret power that you must respect without giving you any legitimate insight into what it is. Because that's the way this game works.

What about you, tentacles? Do you actually think I'm scum or is this mafia on cruise control? Or is this more of a plea to "stop doing that" because it's annoying and it's not why you wanted me to play?

What I want. What I really, really want is for someone to convince me of someone.

How about this, SpyreX: what do you think of CES?

So, when you get the gate key, you are given the two choices for tomorrow's era. For example, our choices for tomorrow are Prehistory or Antiquity.
When you use the gate key, you have to give a list of 5 people to give it to so that if the first person dies, it gets passed to the second, etc. I gave it to Kuribo and then pretended to have it in an attempt to draw a nightkill/reactions/daykill, whatever.

How do you know what eras we can go in tomorrow if you no longer hold the key?

Why do you think sh is scum LLD? From a design perspective, the key thing seems a very town type of thing to give. It gives town some ability to try and utilize era powers and have control over there.

Not all that useful at the moment, obviously, but better to get that out now. And at some point in the late game, hopefully that helps some PoE.

Okay. I've been meaning to get involved with this game now that I've actually been able to use my ability, but work has transpired to keep me down. Regardless, here I go:

Feysal is the scummiest scum from scum town.

His last post was particularly bad, but his iso drips with the same sort of scumminess. And it's this: everything is "odd" to Feysal. Eternal is an "oddball character". My role is "a weird ability." Nuwen and kanye claiming masons is "a little odd." What's Feysal trying to do here? He's trying to do fake analysis by essentially asking statement-questions. In other words, by calling things weird, he invites you to think "oh, well Feysal is coming up with doubts on things."

But that's the thing. He's not. He expresses virtually no doubts about ANY of the claims he's described as odd. So what's his point in doing it? To show that he's "town" because he's trying to outline his thought processes. But it's contrived. And it's scummy. And he's scum.

I'm okay with an Elmo lynch, but I think Feysal should be today's lynch.

meh. bv seems vaguely scummy, but nothing that stands out to me like Feysal. Maybe that's due to the fact that Feysal has only a few consolidated posts whereas bv is spread out, but I don't see bv as a good alternative to Feysal at this point.

But I'm always willing to change my mind: offer a good reason to go after bv, and I will be happy to oblige.

I seem to be. As to why I'm still up at this hour, I don't know.

I also don't know what you're playing at. If you wanted to gambit, you could've picked something less obvious. This era change was plainly a scum action.

Meanwhile, zoraster has moved from weird to outright suspicious. After never even mentioning me before, I'm suddenly his main suspect, right after I expressed doubt about his claim. Really? And that claim is weird. I've never seen or even heard of an even/odd sensor before, and on closer thought, I can easily imagine it being a lie. The only way to really disprove it would be to have everyone on the DRey wagon flip, and the game is likely to end sooner than that happens. In the meantime, the claim can serve scum purposes, whether right or wrong. If the number of scum on the wagon is truly odd, no harm done, and it may give zoraster some town credit he's sorely lacking. If the number is even, then the town will either go on a wild goose chase hunting for one more scum when there are none left on the wagon... or give a false clear to scum, believing they've found them all.

Something else that caught my attention was snifit and Elmo immediately voicing their support.

Except you DIDN'T express suspicion. You called it "weird," which I think was entirely designed to be lots of things to lots of people. If people called you on it for suspecting me when I'm town or I flip town you say, "oh well i just thought it was weird." But if you get any traction at all, you push harder.

In other words, it's a way to make a safe setup statement. You set up some future move, but you take no risk in actually doing it. And yet you've done it all game.

But now that I've called you on it, you've got to make a decision on how to handle it. So now you go all in with your most definite statement all game: outright suspicious (gee. ouch.).

This is scum.

Back from V/LA. Will hopefully get to this today, but no telling how much work will be stacked up in my office. Are we still arguing about dueling mason claims?

The thing is: someone has to test the mason claims sooner or later. The question is who blinks first, town or the other scum team? I don't think a scum team can afford to leave alive masons indefinitely, even as we suspect them.

Are you suggesting that when "the herd thins" that you're actually going to go back 120+ pages rereading, making connections, etc.? I could be wrong, but that doesn't really seem to fit you.

give me a quick sampling of your notes, please. if they're in a word doc, just copy and paste a selection. If they're on paper, feel free to either transcribe or take a photo of them and post it here.

uh huh. Found it too hard to go back and fake some notes?

And which reasons are you referring to? The fact that "no one is listening to reasons" isn't really a reason not to share.

Nice attempt to distract from the fact you've basically admitted to lying. And lying so that you could make yourself seem more sympathetic because gosh if we'd just play the game, you'd be a more positive contributor but as it stands you'll just have to sadly go on your way of saying nothing.

My X, Y and Z aren't in question here as I didn't make some claim to have "notes" from the game that I'm just not sharing.

Also, don't you get what I've done? I've created this little spat so that if you really did have insightful notes, you could come in, post them and say "Call ME a liar?!?" and everyone would pay attention because it's suddenly part of a story, a conversation, rather than background noise.

But instead, we're left with nothing. Because you don't have jack.

If you're going to focus on this game for once then you can help me with my issue. That being that if Nuwen/Kanye/Shadow is scum and Feysal is too which I'm pretty confident in too then one of Fate/Alchemist/CES/LLD/Shumgen/Oversoul have to be scum too. I think Alchemist/CES/Fate is town very confidently meaning I have a wrong read somewhere in Shmugen, Oversoul and LLD. Find it for me?

Can you clarify what you mean? You think a scum team is Nuwen, Kanye, Shadow, Feysal, AND someone else? or what?

This is BS and you know it. You're fishing for information that I don't need to give because I'm not a lynch candidate and I'm sure as hell not a night kill candidate. Also, without claiming, some of my connections don't make as much sense either. We'll leave it at that.

You only give information when you're about to be offed? I thought you weren't giving it to us because people weren't paying attention to you.

Why not give us some outdated notes that you used to have on people who have been killed or what not?

well i guess most in the dead thread wanted to know:

1. Why you didn't make a huge deal out of the fact you were 99% confirmed (barring some sensor godfather role)
2. Why you let Code have the hammer
3. Why Code decided to take eons to make his decision.

it's okay. once given the hammer, it was a-okay to spend a day or two making sure you checked yourself. But why 10?

2. What was I supposed to do, unvote Pidgey? I knew who scum was and voted them. If I hadn't voted, I'd have to explain why, and I had no reason.
3. That's a good question.

One of the bigger swing points in this game for me happened Night 1 when Vi died and didn't get the gate key.

No i just mean the fact that the sensor cleared you was barely brought up.

As Vi said in the Scum QT:

The problem is that Shmugen isn't scum via the sensor. Done and done.

By the way, I mentioned it in QT, but thanks to kdub for running the game. It was a fun mechanic and the setup was pretty fun. We've been over the fact it was pretty heavily anti-town (despite the result), but that doesn't mean it wasn't fun.
