I could continue, but these are my main points.

1. This game is boring. Forgive me for not commenting on the multiple pissing contests between players.
2. You're ignoring the context completely. My reasoning for all of that should be obvious but in case it isn't I will explain again. I voted Hoopla for her activity issues with her play. I had just seen her be more active as town and lead a scum lynch in a Mini Normal.

She retorted with the appeal of the game being the reason she was inactive. I let her have her space to see if her activity would change.

It never did. I was waiting on Hoopla to become active when Pere said he had a result on her. People piled onto Hoopla's wagon. I unvoted in order to try and coordinate our secret abilities to gain the most out of Hoopla's lynch. MattP then stole the hammer for selfish reasons. I read Hoopla as town for her claim with Empking. If it was a cult, I did not think that Hoopla would be that ballsy to do that. It is for the activity reasons and Empking's flip that I think Hoopla was a legacy scum, but I can't be sure.

I am sorry for bringing up old things about the Reckoning, I had no idea what went on behind the scenes for that game, and I read very little of it other than a few players I enjoy reading (like Tammy). I noticed that you both got into a very heated argument that lasted days. That is why I used that example.

Scum have night talk, group vote, a nightkill, not to mention all the other psychological benefits of not having to be pressured to find scum.
Pretty much any game without power roles is scumsided. You add power roles to give town the chance to fight back at inherent abilities they do not have.
2:11 mountainous is scumsided. That is 13 players. This game is 16 players. So if you look at it from a mountainous point of view you are adding

goons. From that point of view alone, this game is scumsided. Adding PRs we start to balance this out.

Runaway neighborhoods are essentially neighborhoods where the scum lose their mole, their insideman, and no longer have access to the information, discussion, etc of that neighborhood. That can *quickly* spiral out of control especially given the fact that we are all power roles. Lose your man on the inside in a neighborhood with a doctor and an investigative role? Or multiple investigative roles/protective roles? They can now coordinate their actions and make more efficient choices in their night actions.

However, judging from what people have said and my own deductions, not all of these power roles are beneficial. Those roles are what I would call French Vanilla. While technically not vanilla, in the grand scheme of things, they might as well be.

Traditionally "balanced" setups often involved one mafia PR or none, to combat 2-4 town PRs, depending on the strength of the PRs. You have to remember that even though every town person has a PR, every scum member has a PR as well and with those internal communications and coordination, those powers are generally more effective than town power. They can cover large swathes of the game with their analysis, night kill, and their own PRs where as town PRs are lucky to have that same spread.

That is why I think the number of scum was to combat the neighbor mechanic.
