Street Racers: London (Game over!)

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Tue Dec 30, 2014 5:17 pm

Post by StrangerCoug »

The Midnight Racing Club is still trying to find its turf. It's gone across the pond and staked out London as the next city to race in. As cool as it sounds to drive on the left just like its inspirational racing gang, what's not cool is that their mortal enemies, who have already secured two cities where the MRC has formerly been, has tracked them down and wants to set up operations outside of the United States, too—and they DON'T intend on letting the MRC have the UK capital. After more rubber is burned and more blood is spilled, who will come out victorious?

GENERAL GAME RULES

Unless contradicted by your role PM:
  1. Votes must be in vote tags or bold tags (I prefer the former) to count. Unvotes are not required before voting someone else, but can help with clarity. A majority of votes is required to lynch—no exceptions. You may also vote No Lynch; if the majority does so, day will end early without a lynch.
  2. Each day will be three weeks if more than 18 players are alive, two weeks if between 7 and 18 players inclusive are alive, and one week if fewer than 7 players are alive. Each night will be two days.
  3. If three consecutive cycles pass with no lynch or kill attempt, the game automatically ends in a draw.
  4. Prods go out after 48 hours of inactivity. If you do not respond to a prod within 24 hours or I have to prod you a third time, I will replace you.
  5. The mod's color is purple. Don't use it.
  6. Do not pretend to break the rules or encourage others to break the rules.
  7. If something needs my attention, PM me or bold the word "Mod" followed by what you want to tell me.

Additionally, all site rules apply. (I allow "Bah!" posts, by the way.) Nobody in this game has a role that permits violations of these.

RULES SPECIFIC TO THIS GAME

  1. I have appointed 4nxi3ty to be my backup mod in case I don't have Internet access or anticipate such. Please be nice to him.

SAMPLE ROLE PM

StrangerCoug, you are
Jeffrey Hope, the driver of a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser and a
vanilla townie
. After losing New York to and failing to take Las Vegas from the Death Bikers, you have decided to expand your club internationally, racing the motorways in and around the British capital. There are a couple of things that are a nuisance here, though. Number one, you have to adjust to driving on the left side of the road (but hey, it's easy enough to pick up, and the street racing gang that inspired you blokes did it). Number two, your rivals the Death Bikers want a slice of the international pie, too.

You have no gun, no badge, no first aid kit, no magic thingamajiggers, absolutely nothing special except for three things—your car, your brain, and voting abilities. But those three things are all you need to rule the streets of London!

You win when all threats to the Midnight Racing Club have been eliminated from the game.

Please PM me back acknowledging that you understand and confirm your role. The thread is here and you're in a day start.

All role PMs are out. mastin2 is V/LA until
Monday
Thursday (I was thinking the wrong month), so she will be given a little extra time and have (expired on 2015-01-04 00:58:34) to confirm her role. The rest of you have (expired on 2015-01-03 00:58:34) to confirm yours.

kdowns, Ollie, and Zombehs have not picked up their role PMs. One of the players not being replaced is a player with whom Cephrir does not want to play, so he's being skipped in the replacement queue for now. As for vezokpiraka, he replaces Zombehs, while Titus, who PM'd me an /in to replace, will replace Ollie. I have a potential replacement for kdowns as well; let me check with that person.

Day 1 ends in (expired on 2015-01-24 01:19:29).

Alright guys, since I feel like tryharding right now and not making a TON of posts, Im just going to make one really big post for you all to enjoy.

There are 28 players in this game. This game is going to be long and have a lot of replacements. I will have very limited tolerance for people lurking. If you are not going to be INVOLVED, then please leave sooner than later. Further, the deadline of 3 weeks drops to 2 weeks when there are < 18 players in the game. While there are 3 weeks for deadline, I am going to aim for and push for lynches to be scheduled after 2 weeks of discussion (or earlier). I wont let everyone take this game and draw it out with bullshit refusals to compromise vote or extended spamposting about nothing while people get to discouraged to keep up with the game.

We aim for 2 weeks out. If there are circumstances that prevent that from being reasonable (like the lynchee claiming a big PR or whatever), we have extra time to stop ourselves from being retarded and no-lynching. There will be no no-lynching in this game. Get that through your thick stubborn hides right the hell now.

I'm going to be handing out wrist slaps to people who dont work towards this goal and be downright condescending to anyone actively opposing it. Thanks!

Sorry, AP, but we've decided that we're going to be obvtown and get shot after catching >half of the scumteam. If you could continue loudly expressing a desire to lynch us so we don't get shot too soon, that'd be great, thanks. In return, I can spam the rest of this page so you can post more.

I approve of the no no lynching, and the 2 weeks of discussion. This game is a first for me in many ways. Right now, there are 30 other people playing. That's double the previous largest amount ive had.
Its also my first hydra.
Anyways, I have some questions to get the ball rolling.
Everyone: How will you play this game differently to a normal sized game (eg 13 people)?
More experienced people:Mechanics wise, what can we expect in large games that we wouldn't expect in a normal sized game, such as multi or tripleball (if that's even a term)?

@Om, multiball is remote solely due to flavor of past games. Your obsession with it is off so early though. Why are you concerned with how many people will die?
