Almost50 pisskop: Overall, that's a townie slot. Don't ask for specifics because with PK everything can be interpreted either way. It's probably WHEN he says/does things that matter, so it's more of a matter of conception rather than solid reasoning.

people "not playing to win" has more to do with this being late for most of the players plus this being a marathon and therefore not something to take very seriously. In a normal game such a thing doesn't happen.

Yup. Would have risen eventually.

Maybe this needs to be 13 players.. 3 vigilantes.
I was also considering giving the vigilante enabler the ability to create vigilantes, but I thought that was too much for a 9p game.

Yeah, probably. Maybe should've ran another mexican standoff, but I wanted to try this, and I had fun modding this nonetheless. Even though I'm a bit slow. This is hard work in 30m '/ 15m day night cycles! Respect for the other mods in the marathon.

I wish it was worded more clearly in the OP that every player that dies becomes a zombie - I was under the mistaken impression that only some would, which is what I thought was the balancing factor for the town power being relatively week.

Anyway, finally, my thought on balance:

Town and mafia both have a need to manage the zombie horde.
Mafia needs the town vigilantes, town needs the mafia vigilante enabler.
They can gamble that the other faction will take care of it, but if they guess wrong, the zombies grow in numbers.
I've added 2 vigilantes so you could get one killed early. They start with 0 shots, because I didn't want them to take out the mafia night 1, no matter how small that chance is.. You start with 0 zombies, so you don't need vigilantes right away.
But with both vigilantes gone, the lynch and mafia kill are the last resort. if you have 1 zombie alive at a time, you can manage this.
Obviously, you need to send in kills actions to kill them.. Or lynch them.
Preferrably you lynch players to get rid of them, killing players at night will give them a guaranteed kill the following night.

In short: the idea behid the game is zombie management.

Anyway, those were my thoughts.
