Jake: there are marathon games where you do just what you asked about, but I don't know the full details about that. I'd recommend asking someone with more experience. Flay will probably come in here and illuminate us. Or haylen.

in #mafia there's usually enough people to play most of the time, although there are periods of downtime typically while it's night\early morning in the US of A.
As a heads up though;
mafia with XylBot is a bit different from on the forums, the biggest differences being often unreliable roles (and crazy setups)
and no RVS, as
most XylBot games start in mylo or lylo.
Bolded: True. Also note that there are setups which are not really quite mafia (such as momir duel, the shoot out versions that I don't remember the name of, and raf) but are still reasonably enjoyable.
Underlined: Untrue. Large number games tend to not be in lylo.

First: 24 hours until the last day.
Second: Enjoy. Feel free to PM anybody awesome and they'll almost certainly be willing to help you. (Note: I'm not awesome but I'm still willing to help)

I'm not a murderer. I'm a kind, gentle soul that sends the tortured people to a peaceful, eternal rest. One free of worries about such small things as what will happen when I take over their land or what they can do to stop me. One filled with dreams of rainbows and peace and jelly babies. I am but doing a public service in freeing them of the shackles of paranoia and fear that they would otherwise live in.

More like they were so awesome the internet stole 'em.
(in seriousness, the above is actually a somewhat accurate representation of what happened: stuff got lost into the internets due to a hardware problem leading to loss of memory, etc, etc, backups were needed, yadda)

Well, see. I'm an adorable snowman with a lazer shooting through his stomach. You're some giant holding up the leaning tower of pisa. I'm way more huggable.

It depends on how you look at it.
Do you enjoy being a work horse for someone who cares not for your complains?
Do you like performing pointless tasks for no thanks or appreciation?
Do you love the feeling of being looked ever so slightly down upon by your peers for your submissive tendencies?
If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, this position is right for you.

It really depends on what you're looking for.
If you're trying to just get a lot of fast games of mafia, you might be better off with IRC channels for mafia or other sites. If you're looking for a place where people are 100% casual about their mafia playing, then a site that isn't devoted to mafia and its theory is probably not the place for you either (most of us are relaxed, but things are pretty strict here in some ways that you might not like). Etc etc.

A friend of mine told us about mafia for the first time back in 1992 or so. Later it became our favourite "party game".
Over the years we've reached a quite balanced yet funny setup with rules which had been inevitably different from the Internet rules. If you're interested in them I might explain.
I think you just misunderstood his question.
He meant "where at in real life?" because we have a lot of scummers that have played mafia in real life (and a lot of scummers in a lot of places), so there's a chance you might actually have met someone on here before.
