Honourable Mentions for best episode include Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas, Conspiracy Theories and Interior Design, Epidemiology, and Debate 109.

I really enjoyed the one before the finale in S2, where it's a flashback to stuff that was never showed.

hahaha yeah. the first time i watched that i got pissed at the beginning because there is nothing I hate more in a sitcom than a clip show. Then I realized what was going on and laughed a lot.

My favourite line: "You can yell at me all you want, but i've seen enough movies to know that popping the back of a raft makes it go faster"

For the record, I would happily watch a Kick Puncher series.

EDIT: Just finished the new ep. Really feels like an intro to the season, but Chang as a security guard looks promising.

Garret was possibly the best use of a secondary character ever in Community.

EDIT: Even Britta's side-plot was kinda funny, just for Chang getting some good development. Weird that there was no Dean Pelton, though.

It is a reference. Dan Harmon mentions it in that blog post I linked a few back. He also explains why the last two were switched. Turns out Chaos was a LOT harder to edit than the one before it.

I forced a friend of mine to watch the episode yesterday. By the time she started singing along to Kiss From A Rose, she was hooked. Borrowed both of the first two seasons off me this morning.

Also, the puppet show for Annie was pretty great.

I'm assuming that ties back in to the "having a therapist" thing, or it's just a random throwaway scene that added that on for randomness, like Troy and Abed playing Operation on Pierce.

I don't see this happening. It's more likely
someone like Starburns or Leonard, characters who you wouldn't feel so bad if they died.

Also this was an interesting read.

That was my side of the bet. I could even see
someone like Rich or Abed's dad dying, if they try to go "Special Episode" on it.

I really, really loved this episode. Huge character development, great insight in to Abed and Annie, and finally a Troy and Abed in the Morning skit with a guest who was actually playing along.

Second viewing: The Dual-i-Dean is still the most elaborate costume he's ever done.

How were you "not thrilled"? Personally, this was one of my favourite episodes of Community ever. It nailed everything the show was always about, and as a bonus IT ACTUALLY INVOLVED A CLASS, which is something this season was lacking. Also, having the actual medical examiner from Law and Order was a nice touch. Honestly, I don't think thee's much that this episode didn't hit dead on.

The sound, the camera angles, the way people asked and answered questions. It all had the ring of Law and Order, even more so than the obvious things. I really liked this episode. It's up there with Chaos Theory and the Ken Burns episode for this season.

And the best part: That's the actual Medical Examiner from Law and Order. Just made the whole spoof so much more satisfying.

So turns out the real story is Community, Parks & Rec, and 30 Rock for 13-ep seasons, but ONLY 30 ROCK'S is the end of the series. Likely result is that if one of the other half-season runs they have on bombs, or if Community gets decent ratings, then it gets 30 Rock's spot when that finishes.

Well, any second try at this was going to be a little disappointing, but I loved all the random callbacks. Also, film noir paintball would've been great.

So Dan Harmon's out as showrunner. Kinda sucks, but it shows Sony at least still cares about the show. Plus, the writers are all still there.

I'm just hoping this becomes more of a MASH Season 6 deal, rather than that season of Scrubs that never existed.

Reck, don't forget they still have Megan Ganz and Andy Bobrow. They wrote some of my favourite episodes (Calligraphy, the Documentary episodes, Law and Order from Ganz, and Rocket Science, Mixology, and Pillows from Bobrow). Hopefully between those two and the writers they have, they can wrap the show up satisfactorily.

Zoneface, if you don't think the show is worth your time, why would you watch?

Also, I'd like to point out exactly how fucking weird Season 3's premiere was too. Give the series a few weeks before you declare it a shambling corpse. If you want to hate NBC for how they treated Dan Harmon, that's great, but knowing that made so many people go in to this show knowing he wasn't there and hating it. If you had never heard anything about the Dan Harmon stuff, you'd likely still dislike this episode, as it was really weird, but it's no weirder than glee-dance-number-monkey-knockout-gas-fire-axe-to-the-table.

Instead we got a mish-mash of unsubstantial plot lines that are only funny in the shallowest of senses. Hopefully it will get better in the future, but regardless, I'm still glad that Community's back.

Overall the episode was okay, I mean I liked the first few minutes a lot. I actually liked Annies storyline and I didnt see it as a regression. Jeff getting his shirt off and pretending to be British not so much.

Im starting to get bored of the whole couples getting together thing though, I mean Im already completely over Troy and Britta, and as much as I like Troy and Abed its now a crutch, yes a lot of people like that pairing, yes they are good together, but Community was more than just them two.

This pretty accurately sums up my feelings as well

I would like the show to get renewed, simply because it finally seemed to find its footing the past couple episodes. Maybe they could do it right.

Also, this is still a decent series finale. Not as good as the last one, but still decent.

You know, I'd be okay with this if every new show I watched wasn't fucking terrible.
Accurately sums up my feelings too. Brooklyn Nine Nine and Parks and Rec are the only two mainstream-ish shows that I've seen recently that were any good.

I didn't take that away from this season, especially with the ending tag of the last episode (and the fact that they're continuing from there next season). Prozac has some valid criticisms though.

Yvette Nicole Brown's left though, which is a bit disappointing.

I agree, but it just felt like the cast was way too small now (before I found out about Keith David)

There was a couple tongue in cheek goofiness, but nothing like a Dictator taking over the school with children militia requiring the study group to put on costumes to infiltrate it. Like, imagine that being pitched to you Season 2. You'd be like "That's way too absurd, Community keeps it right between not real and a little absurd, that's out of place."

So if they could reel back on the absurd factor, I'd be okay with it? Hell, go back to Season 1 status if you need to where it was just like a more typical normal show.

Maybe I just have too high expectations.

I 100% agree to that. The moment I stopped enjoying the show was when they stopped being a show about Community College with interesting characters and started being a show about WACKY HIJINKS starring Abed and the rest of the gang that sometimes referenced its nominal setting.

Yeah, the last season was really bland for that reason.

Scale of Season 1-5, how much like old Community is it?
