Re: favourite episodes, gotta be Modern Warfare. That was the moment the show stopped being decent and became unbelievably awesome. Possibly my favourite scene is the one in Football, Feminism and You with Jeff and Troy arguing about what's racist.

hahaha yeah. the first time i watched that i got pissed at the beginning because there is nothing I hate more in a sitcom than a clip show. Then I realized what was going on and laughed a lot.

garret might be the best minor character in the show.

Garret was possibly the best use of a secondary character ever in Community.

EDIT: Even Britta's side-plot was kinda funny, just for Chang getting some good development. Weird that there was no Dean Pelton, though.

This is another one of those shows that make me think "why the fuck have I not seen this yet this is amazing".

How were you "not thrilled"? Personally, this was one of my favourite episodes of Community ever. It nailed everything the show was always about, and as a bonus IT ACTUALLY INVOLVED A CLASS, which is something this season was lacking. Also, having the actual medical examiner from Law and Order was a nice touch. Honestly, I don't think thee's much that this episode didn't hit dead on.

Great episode. I loved the Law and Order spoof. My favorite part was all of the subtle little things that made it Law and Order-y. The sound, the camera angles, the way people asked and answered questions. It all had the ring of Law and Order, even more so than the obvious things. I really liked this episode. It's up there with Chaos Theory and the Ken Burns episode for this season.

And the best part: That's the actual Medical Examiner from Law and Order. Just made the whole spoof so much more satisfying.

So turns out the real story is Community, Parks & Rec, and 30 Rock for 13-ep seasons, but ONLY 30 ROCK'S is the end of the series. Likely result is that if one of the other half-season runs they have on bombs, or if Community gets decent ratings, then it gets 30 Rock's spot when that finishes.

They wrote some of my favourite episodes (Calligraphy, the Documentary episodes, Law and Order from Ganz, and Rocket Science, Mixology, and Pillows from Bobrow). Hopefully between those two and the writers they have, they can wrap the show up satisfactorily.

Also, I'd like to point out exactly how fucking weird Season 3's premiere was too. Give the series a few weeks before you declare it a shambling corpse. If you want to hate NBC for how they treated Dan Harmon, that's great, but knowing that made so many people go in to this show knowing he wasn't there and hating it. If you had never heard anything about the Dan Harmon stuff, you'd likely still dislike this episode, as it was really weird, but it's no weirder than glee-dance-number-monkey-knockout-gas-fire-axe-to-the-table.

I actually thought the episode was OK. Maybe on the lower end of Community episodes, but not god-awful. The whole Abed TV sitcom thing was a great meta joke to kick off the episode, but nothing more than that. I really wish that they went all-in on the Hunger Dean's idea, because I think it had a lot of potential. Instead we got a mish-mash of unsubstantial plot lines that are only funny in the shallowest of senses. Hopefully it will get better in the future, but regardless, I'm still glad that Community's back.

Overall the episode was okay, I mean I liked the first few minutes a lot. I actually liked Annies storyline and I didnt see it as a regression. Jeff getting his shirt off and pretending to be British not so much.

Im starting to get bored of the whole couples getting together thing though, I mean Im already completely over Troy and Britta, and as much as I like Troy and Abed its now a crutch, yes a lot of people like that pairing, yes they are good together, but Community was more than just them two.

Just got around to watching the thanksgiving episode and thought it was pretty good, especially compared to the earlier episodes of the season. jeff's half-brother might have been a little overdone but it seemed pretty necessary for the episode to work the way it did.

Thanksgiving and the last episode felt a lot like Season 3 to me, which was nice after that shaky few starter episodes.

I mean I'll be real, I think season 2 was perfect. The characters were all in a good place and the mood was perfect. There was a couple tongue in cheek goofiness, but nothing like a Dictator taking over the school with children militia requiring the study group to put on costumes to infiltrate it. Like, imagine that being pitched to you Season 2. You'd be like "That's way too absurd, Community keeps it right between not real and a little absurd, that's out of place."

So if they could reel back on the absurd factor, I'd be okay with it? Hell, go back to Season 1 status if you need to where it was just like a more typical normal show.

Maybe I just have too high expectations.

I 100% agree to that. The moment I stopped enjoying the show was when they stopped being a show about Community College with interesting characters and started being a show about WACKY HIJINKS starring Abed and the rest of the gang that sometimes referenced its nominal setting.

Yeah, the last season was really bland for that reason.
