I think Luck is probably the most overhyped Rookie, although he might be better in the future, he currently isn't.

I think Andrew Luck performed surprisingly well considering the fact that his team contains virtually no one of note to throw the ball to and his offensive line is essentially Anthony Castonzo and 4 traffic cones.

Thompkins is a relatively 'safe' risk to take.

He's been getting bonkers amt of targets this preseason, playing the Bills who don't have their #1CB(not that he would be on Thompkins all that often anyway), but it's not a massive gamble to throw him into safe WR3 range with quite a bit of upside considering it's his first game. Upside WR3 play vs shitty team without their top CB, with Tom Brady throwing the ball. It certainly sounds nice. Of course he could do nothing and the world would still keep on turning.
