honestly, montreal is not even nearly as bad in the winter as people think..
especially when downtown. you just have to bring a jacket... and a hat... and a scarf. but it's not that bad
plus, there is always outdoor ice skating with rentals.
and old port with a bunch of great restaurants (and cobblestone and horses)
and Jean Drapeau Island.. you take the metro under the river and get a nice view of the city. Plus, there is always something going on there.
and also Place des Arts, where there is literally 2 blocks by 2 blocks reserved for pedestrians and some sort of performance (music, art etc).
dram - it would be interesting to see what might be going on at the island during that time, don't you think?
