Join a game in the Newbie Queue. Even if you've played elsewhere before, the Newbie Queue will give you a good feeling of what this site is like, as you'll be with a few newbies and a few experienced players.

Just be aware we have fairly longish deadlines so pace yourself with posting so you don't burn out. A lot depends on what type of games you want. If you feel comfortable jump into the open/theme/normal queue and you'll be probably fine. (Depending on which game type you'd prefer).

e: Meh. Newbie queue can be boring. Depends on how confident you feel about playing forum mafia.

Some can take a few months, depending on the size of the game. My longest game so far lasted three months from beginning to end.

And yes, if you go to the Mafia Games forums, you'll find the Completed [TYPE] Games subforums that have plenty of completed games.

Forgive me for standing here with my mouth gaping but how can the game only last three months if one day is two weeks. That would only be about four days in the game. Four night kills and four lynchings. Throw in a couple more for twists and it took 3 months to kill 10 people?

Enlighten me because I'm sure I'm missing something. In the meantime I'm going to read some closed games.

Three months beginning to end is about right for any game here.

(With that said, I agree that Day phases that are longer than two weeks should be grounds for modicide.)

Um, months are four weeks long. That's six of each.

That's also assuming each Day goes to deadline, which basically

8 days in that specific game, actually, for a total with 20 players with 16 deaths/lynches. A two-week

deadline

does not mean it

needs

to be used till the very end.

My deadlines in games usually sit at 2 weeks, but I'm shocked when days last more than a week. It just depends on the player list.
