Actually, it's our first (and only) outage since setting up the twitter account. But it worked well as a starting point for getting the message out. From twitter, the message moved on to the Tiger Vigil Quicktopic, the Russian spam-filled Fallout shelter, and beyond to facebook, etc.. Sort of a digital phone tree of social media.Occasionally intellectually honest

Would there be a way to add the Twitter link to the mafiascum.net page, that way when you google mafiascum it comes up?In post 707, Kublai Khan wrote:Actually, it's our first (and only) outage since setting up the twitter account. When the site was down, twitter was at the top of my google. (followed by the fallout shelter) There was no sign of the actual site this morning. In post 708, Oversoul wrote:

I'm sitting here with tears running down my face.
This may not be the best place to write this but I hate starting threads and this has been a place for me to come back to over the past couple of years so it feels like the safest place on this site for me right now but man my heart is broken.
I've been away from the site for a little while, very busy with life but I really like this place.
At one point I even came here with my daughter and some other friends to play word games.
When I logged on the other day I read the devastating news about the arrest. That was a bad day. I told my two youngest daughters about it (aged 16 and 19) and they hugged me and sympathized cuz they get it. They know about community and betrayal and loss in the virtual world. This is the world. I love my kids man.
Anyway I was reading to try to understand who all and what all because I don't really know everyone and everyone's story. I didn't want to chime in because I felt I had no real place in that conversation, no right to speak there when there were real victims, people who had formed friendships off this site and even in person. But I wanted to 'hear' anyone who felt they needed to speak so I've kept reading it over the past few days as I had time.
I barely managed not to vomit a few times and had to stop.
Today I resolved to finish and then be done with it but I didn't make it.
Not sure that I can.
Don't know really what I want to convey.
I don't want to speak on that thread but these tears and this snot compel me that I don't want to be silent either.
I think the original purpose of that thread was a good one.
To allow people who had been affected by the betrayal to express themselves was noble and good for the community. (my opinion)
The people who decided to use that thread for reasons other than that ranged from clueless to selfish to vomit inducing.
I'm going to go finish crying now.
I'm going to go back and finish it after I've had a chance to mentally and emotionally fortify myself.
I feel like I owe it to myself to know who you all are if I'm going to spend time among you. Your justifications and rationalizations are very telling.- Cheery Dog

It's perfectly fine for you to not read that thread. It's probably actually a better idea than reading itHolder of the Longest Continuous Weekly Mafiascum Post Record. 1 July 2012 - 16 Feb 2023

I'm torn between not wanting to talk about this and the feeling that my saying it in the open might help someone but right now I don't feel like I can even help myself let alone help anyone else but I still want to ask ...
Do you think that people who went to that thread to share their sense of hurt and betrayal are helped by people like me who went there to hear them?
Even if I didn't speak up and acknowledge their pain?
Cuz that's why I went.
I thought listening was something good I could do since there was so very little else I could do.
It hurts like hell though.
Not the reason I went. That part I wanted. To go there. To take away a bad piece of something laid down and leave less hurt than was there before. I'd take away as much as I could bear and be honored to do it.
It's the other stuff. The not listening and the rest.
It makes so I can't breathe because of the bile in my throat and it makes the tears so I can't even read and I'm sad because that's all I had to give.- chamber

It's fine if you don't read it, Telo. There is a lot of toxicity in that thread. It's appreciated that you went through the trouble to hear us out. It sounds like you're taking our pain and betrayal and feeling it for yourself, and that takes more courage than a lot of the people who posted in that thread. You don't have to take all of the pain away. At least for me, being able to put it out there was enough, and time will deal with the rest. That you saw it was more than enough.
So, thank you. - Equinox
