Remember that Lord Dondarron was brought back to life specifically by a Red Priest, and Stannis has one of those. Melissandre also saved Mance from death with illusion magic, so saving Jon is almost certainly within her abilities. And given that Jon appears to be very important to her plans, it's likely she'll do so.

There's also a part of Melisandre's PoV where she has a vision in her flames of Jon "turning from a man to a wolf and back to a man again", and given what happens at the end of the stabbing chapter, it's likely Jon warged into Ghost just before "dying".

I mean, it's certainly possible that Jon is actually dead, but given all the buildup/clues about Jon's true parentage and all the signs that point to him being Azor Ahai or [insert prophesized savior here], I think it's super unlikely.

That being said, it wouldn't at all surprise me if Jon was Azor Ahai, but it meant something different than we'd expected. It also would surprise me if Aerys was the Prince that was Promised, completely seperate from Azor Ahai.

I think him actually being the real Aegon would surprise me, nevermind him being any sort of prophesized figure.

Got the audiobook to listen to at work. I keep wincing at all the foreshadowing to events in future books that I didn't notice the first time through.
