I learned something weird in my Calc class today

Volume of a cylinder is (pi*r^2)h

If you cut it in equal fourths parallel to the circular faces and through the center (like you would a cheese wheel), the volume of each wedge is (1/4)(pi*r^2)h

Now take one of the rectangular faces on that wedge and squish it down until it becomes an edge

The formula for the volume of this slanted wedge is (r^3)/3

Slanting one of the faces makes pi go away

It's fucking creepy dude

it is. if you'd posted it just a couple hours later it would have been the 314th in my timezone when you started the thread, but it was the 313th for me and for you as well.

in australia, it was already the 314th when you wrote the OP
