What is the MafiaScum Song Contest?

The MafiaScum Song Contest is a monthly (give or take) competition modeled after the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It's a means to gain exposure to new music through the tastes of your peers, like it or not. Those that enter must also vote for the people they are running against based on how much they like the songs. Everyone picks an alias in the form of a country (any one of your choosing) and sends in a song that they like in order to expose it to the other contestants. After voting, they are tallied in the thread and a winner is named. No matter who wins, everyone wins by gaining new knowledge of songs, artists, albums and genres of music in the process!

What is the Battle of the Best?

The Battle of the Best is a special contest, pitting previously entered artists ONLY against each other to see which artist comes out on top! Artists qualify for this contest by getting top 3 in a previous contest! You may not enter any artist that has not gotten top 3 in a past contest. Additionally, if an artist has gotten top 3 in a previous Battle of the Best, they are not eligible.

Please keep this in mind when submitting artists for Battle of the Best:

1. Reserved Countries ARE carried over from Song Contest 90.
2. Those that have been banned from Song Contest 91 for not voting in Song Contest 90 are NOT banned from this contest.
3. You may enter an artist that another entrant first submitted, but entrants have priority to an artist they have previously submitted, regardless of time submitted.
4. All voting is done the same way as all previous contests.
5. New entrants will not be permitted - you must have entered the Song Contest at least once in the past to enter this one.
6. There will be no cuts. All entries will be eligible for consideration. You must still vote for your top 10, and you will still receive a 20 point penalty for not voting if you enter.

How to Participate in the Song Contest:

1. Find a song that you like on any internet medium that isn't restricted or private.

2. Submit it via the form linked above!

3. Wait until I reveal the entries.

4. Once entries are revealed, you will rank your top 10 countries! You will do this via a Google Form link to be provided later. The point values are as follows:

12 points - 1st
10 - 2nd
8 - 3rd
7 - 4th
6 - 5st
5 - 6th
4 - 7th
3 - 8th
2 - 9th
1 - 10th

Please rate fairly by giving all countries a listen. You may not vote for yourself. Everyone, regardless of entry or cut status, may vote, so you can still participate even if you chose not to enter or if you got cut! However, if those that entered and are accepted do not vote, they will get a 20 point penalty and be banned from entering in the next contest, so please consider that before entering.

5. Wait for results. It's that simple!

What entries are allowed?

-Only artists that have received a top 3 placement in a previous song contest is eligible.
-Artists that have gotten top 3 in a previous BOTB is NOT eligible. (Artists that have been entered in a BOTB but not placed in the top 3 are fine.)
-You may not enter a song that has already been entered - it must be an unentered song from a previously entered artist.

working on making a list of every song that's ever been in the top three of a contest, minus ones that have been in the top three of a BOTB. it's in excel. any suggestions for getting it out to people? maybe I could put it on google docs...

Thanks to toolenduso for doing this and letting me get a bit clever with it. I'm adding it to the OP now, and a couple of changes have made:

1) it's sortable by column (I assume you can sort with view only access, if not let me know) so you can look at it organized by artist
2) there's a new column on the far right that's just representative of the pre-sorted order, so if you sort by that column it will put it back to what it looked like originally
