Enchroma colour-vision-correcting glasses

So my wife went halves with me on a pair of these colour-vision-correcting glasses for my birthday, and they arrived yesterday.

I put them on, looked around, and, well... hmm... I could see some colours 'popping out' a bit more, nothing too dramatic.
I did notice some more variations of colours: the gravel pebbles in my garden no longer so homogenous, the leaves on the trees more distinct from each other.
So, first impression: 'mildly interesting'.

Then I went for a walk and found that there are some colours - certain types of purples and greens - which are more vivid with the glasses. Like, I've seen vivid purples at times, but most purples look 'washed out' or faded to me, without the glasses, compared to with them on.
Okay, upgrade 'mildly interesting' to 'nifty'.

Then this morning I went for a walk, and I saw a lilac mailbox. Or rather, what I previously would've called a 'light blue' mailbox.
Today I called it a "Holy fuck! What's... what's that colour?" mailbox.
This experience wasn't like seeing purples becoming more vivid than usual, or seeing some grays becoming pinks, or orange-red becoming red.
It wasn't, "Oh, okay, so that thing's actually this other colour."

This time it was, "I have NEVER SEEN THIS COLOUR BEFORE. WOW. JUST WOW."
Luckily no one was filming me to upload a YouTube video of me staring at a letterbox with tears in my eyes.
