The insurance rates for Teslas aren't crazy right now, so flubber's concern isn't really a problem at the moment. The concern is that insurance rates could go up.
The labor costs that heavily contribute to the high cost of repairs for Teslas would presumably be lower for the Model 3, as Majiffy mentioned.
I think you're overestimating the savings on petrol. You're going to end up charging it at home sometimes just because having to drive somewhere to charge it is a pain in the dick, so you're not going to be spending

The charging station is a 5 minute drive from my house, in heavy traffic.
There is no scenario where I couldn't just charge it on any day off in two weeks.
