Spiders are actually your best friends so long as they're not dangerously poisonous. (And my region basically has none. Like, some remote areas with black widows, but otherwise none.)

Ever had that one annoying fly just buzzing around in your house that you can't get out?

Guess what is an effective way to kill (or at least get rid of) them?
A spider's cobweb.
Which, mind you, also can act as a bit of a screen which helps to prevent the flies from entering in the first place!
