Description

There are two levels on this store. Downstairs are books (who woulda thunk it), magazines, games, puzzles and the checkout. Upstairs are more books. The stairs have since been replaced by a more modern escalator, and the store seems to have actually been doing well for the sheer amount of stock in here. The escalator is turned on. Ride it up if you want to check out whats up there.

The backside of the MALL map is visible from here. If you havent found that previously, you should check it out next phase. Its safely protected behind glass.

Terry wanders over to the window, and reads whatever he sees there
He then proceeds to open the tils, and pockets what he finds.
He then walks to the south wall and starts pulling books as though looking for a secret lever to gain access to the bank on the other side of the wall.
This achieves nothing but a literary mess.

Yvonne tries to examine the same books that Terry is flinging around at the same time.

Terry walks over to magazine rack. He picks up a magazine, reads it, tears it to shreds. He picks up the next copy of the same magazine. And repeats.

THen for, no apparent reason, Terry sprints up the escalator, hunts around, returns downstairs with a book in his hand. He places it on the floor next to himself, and then resumes ripping up the magazines. There are a fair number of them, so he might be a while.

He stops reading. Sprints back up stairs, waves his stick around, and then (perhaps) out of breath, returns downstairs. Who knows if he is going to rip more stuff up...

I wish I had Terry's energy. He runs up the escalator, tries to read three books, dumps them on the ground, sprints back downstairs to the newspapers and tries to read them too. I'm not really sure what he gets from that, but there you go. I mean the escalator has power, he could let it take him up and down.

You cant see the map from the inside of the bookstore - you will have to check it again from the Eatery-side. If FarSide22 *happened* to do this already, then you will have a PM with a copy the map :)

I am posting a room layout map in the opening post. Its been adjusted with whats been discovered or done so far. I'll change it, as things change

The room map does not display that there are bookshelves under the second storey as well, but this isnt particularly relevant. Whats important is there are books. But you can go under there if you think up a reason to do so. :)

Jesternl walks over to look at the trophy, only to see it is up high and out of reach. Pooky (to ask Jesternl if he is good) and Talitha (who was independently looking at the trophy) stand next to him.

Its still out of reach. Its about 10 feet above ground, on a high shelf. (I dont think in feet, being from a non-non-metric country, so :-p at you if thats a stupid pick)

Anyway, somehow against all the odds, Pooky manages to tip the heavy star-shaped best store trophy (or whatever it was - Im on my phone, away from PC, it was something like that) and he hands it to Jesternl. Jesternl gains an inventory item.

Pooky heads up the escalator to where those books are, and finds "The Rapture". That's the only religious book here.

Cindy starts to read some text. Specifically the gossip magazines, of which so many are torn up all over the floor. She starts to read about how the owner of the mall, Harold, had been looking for his estranged granddaughter. Yvonne walks up behind her, and starts reading with her. They are both shocked at what they are reading.

The text gets a bit blurry. Cindy instinctively reaches for her glasses, thinking they must have slipped from her nose, or been on her forehead or her pocket, but they are missing. She's quite blind without them.

Yvonne steps back.
