Format rules:
This will be run similar to the previous Weakest Link thread and similar to the 6 player syndicated US version.
In order, each player will be asked a question. You will have 36 hours to answer your question from when I ask it, so pay attention to the order and if you cannot foresee yourself able to answer let me know soon. Only your first answer will be accepted.
Each question will take 5 seconds of time. If you get the question right, you move up the chain to the next highest value. If you get 6 correct answers in a row and bank, you will earn the maximum possible for a round, $12,500.
When you answer a question, you may call bank (
bank
). When you bank, you keep the money you have earned up to that point and the chain resets, but only if you get your question right. Any money not banked by the end of the round is lost.
If you get a question wrong, an additional 2.5 seconds will be removed from the time. As long as there is time remaining, questions can still be answered. Therefore every 2 wrong answers removes one question from the game.
Once a round is over, players will vote on who they think is the weakest link. The person with the most votes will be eliminated from the game. In case of a tie, ties will be broken by the player determined to be the strongest link.
There will be 5 rounds and a bonus round. The first round occurs with 6 players and 1:45 on the clock, while each subsequent round will remove one player and take away 15 seconds. The final round will be 2 of you, and the money earned will be doubled.
The bonus round will determine the victor from the final two. I will ask each player a question one at a time in a best out of three showdown. If there is a tie, I will go to sudden death. The first person to get a question right with their opponent getting one wrong will win.
General rules:
Play nice. Don't be rude to other people. This game is kind of mean so be aware of that.
Do not cheat. These questions may be challenging. As per usual, you may not use google.
There is no private communication.
Some of the questions are in general harder, because I’m one person coming up with them, because they might lean more North American centric, and because you have more time to think and come up with your answer (hence there won’t be any “in math, what is 2 * 4”?). I am hoping the challenge will make the game enjoyable.
Anything I say or rule in the end is the final rule.
Have fun!
