Contestants can win prizes ranging between $0.01 and $250,000. The game is played using twenty-two cases. Inside each case is a sum of money.
At the start of each game, the contestants will select one of the cases. This case contains their (potential) prize. One at a time, the contestant chooses one of the 21 cases remaining (other than their own) to be opened, eliminating the value inside it from the list of possible amounts in the player's case. It is in the player's interest to uncover smaller amounts of money, in the hope that their prize is a larger amount or that they can get a higher offer from the Banker.
The game is played up to six rounds: in the opening round the contestant opens five cases, then three in each subsequent round. After the required number of boxes have been opened in a round, The Banker offers to buy the player's case. The amount is dependent on the remaining case values: if several larger amounts are gone, the offer is likely to be low, as the probability is higher that the player's box contains a small amount of money.
Once the Banker's offer has been given, the player must respond with either "deal" or "no deal"
Responding with "deal" means that the contestant agrees to sell the box for the amount of money offered, relinquishing the prize in their box. The game is now over, and the player's case is revealed to see if a good deal had been made. Saying "no deal" means the player keeps their box, and proceeds to the next round, again hoping to reveal small amounts in the remaining cases.
After six rounds, only two cases remain. If the player rejects the final offer, The Banker will offer the opportunity for the player to swap their case with the other remaining unopened case and take the prize contained in it instead. Otherwise, the player wins whatever is in their case.
Contestants will be prodded if they do not make a decision after an offer has been given for 48 hours. Once a prod goes out, the player will have an additional 48 hours to make a decision. Failure to meet the deadline results in an automatic deal.
You are invited to give the next lot of cases to be opened at the same time you reject an offer to help speed up the game.
It may be helpful to know that at the very top of the money tree, there are two special cells; the one on the right is the current offer and the one on the left is the number of cases to open in the event of its rejection.
