free-agent acquisition budget, instead of normal waiver wire order, we all get a budget to use to bid on waiver wire players during the season. I haven't used it before, but I'd like to try it out. I think it would have owners use the waiver wire more for weaker players that they need instead of just camping out to when waiver wires are cleared and picking up whatever's left in order to save their waiver wire position for that breakout player.

if we do that though, i might advocate for doing something like a third round reversal snake draft so that the owners drafting in the last position don't get completely shafted (since they're effectively losing their waiver priority)

Honestly I barely even knew how to play when I first got started and got to the playoffs in my work league. Like people said, look up fantasy articles geared toward beginners. Don't worry to much (or at all) doing any research yourself about specific players, just look at what experts are suggesting where you should draft them and how many points they expect to get and you're already off to a good start.

In fantasy football you start the season by drafting players to use throughout the season.
you'll use these players to gain points each week. If you have more points than your opponent at the end of the week, you win that week. These points are given for touchdowns and yards thrown/run/receiving. You'll also get points for the defense you play (whose scoring is a bitore compicated) and field goals your kicker makes (the longer the better)
You'll be able to play one QB, two RBs, three WRs, a TE, defense, and kicker. You'll also have a bench where you can store alternates week to week.
That's basically it. Players that aren't drafted go to the waiver wire and then free agency so owners can pick them up later in the season.

It'll be straight up Bengals D vs. Eifert. Not looking great, and doubt I can afford to lose any week going forward if I have any hope of making the playoffs, especially with mith winning this week.

got lucky with that freeman concussion. looks like I'm in the best position to get that wild card at the moment, though pretty much everyone can still get there. If I can win the next two games and mith drops one, I could even get the division win! not bad for going 0-4 to start the season.

Well there's still a chance. You need to win both of the next games, DN loses his game this week, I lose both of my games, Aronis loses next weeks game, Geno either loses this week or you keep the points for lead, Sharon only wins one week and you keep the points lead, and Cutler either loses one of the next two weeks or you beat him in points.
Maybe it's less convoluted than that, but don't give up!

Yeah, we had someone in L3 flake predraft and couldn't find a replacement so mith stepped in. Not sure if we ever figured out how that would affect relegation/promotion.

His league 3 team is 100% getting promoted at this point, he's clinched the playoffs.
I think if he gets relegated in L2 but wins L3 he should get back into L2 and promote L2 #4 instead (next in line).
Actually, I can see the argument that he put in the effort to outright win a league which should warrant promotion. I don't feel strongly one way or the other wrt that combination.

Yeah, you can have yahoo use your own draft list for autodrafting, and if you put all the K/DST/TE on the "Do not Draft" list it won't draft any of them. I've seen it used for DST/K before, but TE is new.

That marble race thing may not actually work, the start mechanism has only 6 slots. Unless I got 2 start items (2x6=12) that I can join with a fork piece, some marbles will get an unfair advantage. I don't remember if I had 2 of those so not sure i can do things with that in mind. I know I had a few fork pieces so finding one of those would be easy.
I think it'd be fine if you just put them all in an opaque plastic cup, shook it, and poured it into the start piece. Hope you can find it for next year!

I'm assuming all the leagues are set up the same, but in our league Jahudo is ranked under pablito and Sharon despite having a better divisional record and same season record. He has a lower points for than both. That indicates score is the first tie breaker.

As last week of season is divisional match up, some of those are impossible. Cutler team is out and so maybe some others. Who plays who final week in league 3?
Jahudo and Sharon play each other this week so Stallions needs a win to make the playoffs.
