In this game, your goal is to create a monopoly in one of the available commodities, by trading the rights to production with other players.
- The game will be played with 64 cards. 59 of these cards will represent the rights to production of one commodity, out of a total of 8, whilst the remaining 5 will correspond to faulty production and sabotage.
- The following cards are available:
++ 8 water cards.
++ 8 food cards.
++ 8 wood cards.
++ 7 coal cards.
++ 7 oil cards.
++ 7 steel cards.
++ 7 gold cards.
++ 7 diamond cards.
++ 5 bomb cards (not a commodity).
- Players may trade these cards between them. To conduct a trade, two players must agree on how many cards they wish to trade. This agreement must also be made known to me, and it must be clear that both players agree to it. Additionally, they must send me a message telling me which cards they wish to send to each other. The number of cards must be the same for both players, and must be the same as the number agreed. Therefore, each player must always have 8 cards.
- If a player agrees to a trade and does not send me a message with the cards they wish to give within 24 hours, the appropriate number of cards will be selected randomly.
- Once I receive the two messages from the trading players, I will let the players know which cards they have received.
- The game will last until one of the two following conditions is met.
-
- The winning player will receive $250,000 if they gained control of a 7-card commodity, and $300,000 if they gained control of an 8-card commodity. Every player then gets $50,000 per card for the commodity they control most (only one commodity will be considered), and lose $100,000 for each additional type of card they hold, after the first two. So, if a player has 4 types of cards, with 5 cards being of a single commodity, they will gain 5 * 50,000 - 2 * 100,000 = $50,000. Furthermore, any player with bomb cards will lose an additional $50,000 per bomb card they are holding.
- The player with the most bombs in their hand will be eliminated. The amount in their account will be recorded as their score, and if positive, will be distributed amongst the remaining players. In the case of a tie, the player with the smallest amount in their account will be eliminated.
-
- If the alternative victory condition is fulfilled, the winning player gets $1,000,000. All other players get $100,000 for each commodity they have in their hand, after the first two. However if a player has at least 5 cards of the same commodity, they do not get any money; instead, they lose $50,000 for each card of that commodity they hold.
- Finally, if the alternative victory condition is fulfilled, the player with the most cards of a single commodity will be eliminated. The amount in their account will be recorded as their score, and if positive, will be distributed amongst the remaining players. In the case of a tie, the player with the smallest amount in their account will be eliminated.
- Private communication is allowed at all times.
