You said Count Almaty is
The English Patient
.

Will it be as good as your last pointless answer?

Image

Spoiler: Result
...Yes, it is! Another pointless answer!
We add another £250 to the Jackpot, bringing it to £1,500, and it brings your final total for this question to a massive
0
.

Image

Let's see the ones that weren't picked.

Athos, Porthos and Aramis are
The Three Musketeers
, which would have scored
39
.
Michael Henchard is the
Mayor of Casterbridge
, scoring
3
, and Oliver Mellors is
Lady Chatterley's Lover
, scoring
6
.

This was a very good pass for all of you; CuddlyCaucasian is in third with
57
, Cybele is next with
20
, and standing tall is xofelf with a perfect
0
.

Our final category for Round II is
LANGUAGES
.

The BBC gave one hundred people one hundred seconds to name as many...
Official languages of the European Union.

...as they could.

We're looking for any of the languages with official recognition by the EU, as stipulated in the latest amendment to
Regulation No 1 determining the languages to be used by the European Economic Community
. Regional-only languages such as Basque are not recognised as an official languages by the European Union and will therefore not be accepted.

xofelf
, add to your zero.

You chose
Swedish
.

Hur säger man Pointless på svenska?

Image

Spoiler: Result
27
points isn't bad, especially after two Pointless answers last round.
'Min svävare är full med ål' is how you say 'my hovercraft is full of eels' in Swedish, by the way.

Cybele

You chose
Croatian
.

Kako se kaže Pointless na hrvatskom?

Image

Spoiler: Result
9
will put you in good standing for the final pass. Croatian just became an official language when Croatia joined the EU in 2013.
Continuing with useful phrases, 'moja je lebdjelica puna jegulja' is 'my hovercraft is full of eels' in Croatian.

I really need these low points, so I'm gonna gamble on
Slovak

Latvian

"CC is an objectively attractive person." - Crazy

"You look like a happy version of Trent Reznor." - LicketyQuickety

You chose
Slovak
.

Ako sa po slovensky povie Pointless?

Image

Spoiler: Result
5
is the best answer so far! Slovak is the official language of Slovakia.
You'd say 'moje vznášadlo je plné úhorov' in Slovak if you were trying to tell someone 'my hovercraft is full of eels'.

Next up is
Latvian
.

Kā latviešu valodā būs Pointless?

Image

Spoiler: Result
Another
5
! You did what you could to see you through... let's see if you can make it with a score of
67
.
'Mans transportlīdzeklis uz gaisa spilvena ir pilns ar zušiem!' That's 'my hovercraft is full of eels' in Latvian.

You chose
Estonian
.

Kuidas Sa ütled Pointless eesti keeles?

Image

Spoiler: Result
A
3
means you're through to the Head to Head with a total of
32
. We'll see who you're facing shortly, and we'll see if your better answer was in the bottom 3 at the end of the pass.
Let's keep this tired joke going as 'mu hõljuk on angerjaid täis' is 'my hovercraft is full of eels' in Estonian.

Image

xofelf
, 39 or less gets you through. Otherwise, CuddlyCaucasian's in the Head to Head.

You chose
Lithuanian
.

Kaip lietuviškai pasakyti Pointless?

Image

Spoiler: Result
Another
3
means you're through as well with a total of
30
. I'm sorry, CuddlyCaucasian... you played amazingly, you just happened to be against two people last round who were amazing at the category.
And finally, 'mano laivas su oro pagalve pilnas ungurių' is 'my hovercraft is full of eels' in Lithuanian.

Image

Let's see the top and bottom three answers given to this question.
Slovenian was the only Pointless answer on the board.

Cybele
and
xofelf
, welcome to the Head to Head!
At most three questions stand between you and the Pointless Trophy (and the semifinals of Game Show Marathon)!

Image

Each of you will give an answer, then after both are given, I will reveal the results.
Whoever scores lowest gets a point, and the first to score two points wins the game.

xofelf
, you played the best so far this game, so you get to go first. Cybele will go first on Question 2.
Let's play Pointless: Head to Head!

Our first category is
Music
, and we're looking for...

Image

Each of the above hit songs has an animal in the title, which we've replaced with a dash. Give us the most obscure animal and win the point.
Cybele, once xofelf gives her answer, you can immediately give yours, as I won't reveal the results until both are chosen.

Spoiler: xofelf
You chose Union of the
Snake
.

Did Duran Duran slither into a hit?

Image

Spoiler: Cybele
You chose
Crocodile
Rock.

Is it enough to beat xofelf? There's your red line.

Image

Spoiler: Results
xofelf, with an
11
point answer, you win the point.

Let's see the rest of the board.

must win this question to stay in the game
.

Our second category is
Art
, and we're looking for...

We are looking for the city in which each of these statues are located. The more obscure answers get fewer points.

OH SHIT. DID YOU KNOW I TOOK A YEAR OF ART HISTORY?
Yeah, I know all of these, and it just comes down to figuring out which of these would be hardest to place... which I'm like 100% is Bernini's The Ecstacy of St Teresa, in Rome, Italy. I can't remember the name of the church it's in, but hell, that ought to be a good sign.
Oh yeah, and that's D, obviously. Pretty sure xof can guess the rest of them, but I'm really hoping I found the hard one.

I'll be a good sport and let you have that one <3

I will thank Xalxe's Amazing Race game for me knowing that E, David is in
Firenze, Italy
and not a normal city like the rest of them.

Let's see if those answers are correct, and if so, which one is the most obscure.

Spoiler: Cybele
You said that D was in
Rome
.

Did your year of art history pay off?

Image

Spoiler: xofelf
You said that E was in
Firenze
.

I'm pretty sure the people of Florence would object to you saying they didn't live in a "normal city". On Pointless, though, as long as you give us an official name of the city, it's fine. But is it correct?

Image

Spoiler: Results
Cybele, with a
4
point answer, you even up the match 1-1.

Image

Let's see the rest of the board.
