Fiasco?

Would anybody have any interest in playing a game of 'fiasco'?
"A game of power ambition and Poor Impulse control"

Basically its a story telling game, but typically things go terribly terribly wrong. You're basically living out a coen brothers movie.
It doesn't require a mod and can play 3-5.

Are you planning to play in-thread, in Mish Mash? That seems like it would be difficult, though I'm interested if you have ideas for it. Would love to try a Skype game, though.

yes, it'd be in thread.

I think it would work really well when the scene creator/finisher is one person. They have some time to think something up and just post it all at once.
The other half of the scene which requires collaboration I admittedly would not be sure how to do. Perhaps if somebody has a good idea, they just go with it.

Hmm. I'm not sure that you could capture the spontaneity that makes Fiasco so effective on here, so I'll probably sit out, but will watch with interest as I'd love to be proved wrong.

I think if people just jump in as their characters or NPCS after a scene is established it'll work fine, there are lots of play by forum games on Boardgamegeek (https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/103969 ... ted/page/2) is an eample.

What playset would people want to play?
My 2 most successful ones have been the old west, but I think almost anything could work

I would be in for this. I've never played but I've seen it done and I have the rulebook and have read the rules. I might need to go over them again.

yeah, I thought I think logicstically it will be a pretty big challenge in a forum setting as there is a lot of colabboration and I'm not sure asychronous play would work so well.
