It probably involved splitting off the old first post of the thread and then trying to create a poll under the new thread ID.

Even if the OP changes hands, it still has the same t=ID. Splitting the OP would (in theory) get rid of broken old poll data that is almost surely associated with that topic ID.

Otherwise, you're basically looking for somebody to dig into the database and clear out the bugginess by hand, which will take longer with current staffing (it's not something that can be done via ACP).

Yeah, there is some larger issue going on there, but given that we're a couple of versions behind on phpBB3, it's hard to tell if it's a problem with some mod we've made, or just bad base code, or what.
