Are you sure it isn't this problem?

I know this thread is dated but I have been having this problem for a while now.
I will get a notifcation for like a few of the threads I watch but rarely is it consistent. Because when I simply peruse the site when I have extra free time I usually notice there have been posts I was not notified about.
Its mainly a problem because I may only get notified for maybe 3 out of 6 important threads I watch.
All of the threads I watch are in my watched topics list and I have never used the notification to stop watching a particular thread. I did take off all of the GD and mishmash in my list though. I haven't experienced spam mailings, and even sometimes(albeit for pm mostly I do) I don't get the PM message until I happen to go on the site.
I don't have any blocks on my profile, I am watching the topics, I have no blocks on my ISP, I don't let mscum mail pile up and I immediately go to whereever the mail says the new post/pm is. (I have this cool set up..)
I hope that's enough info on my problem.
What is the point of using foul language, downright rudeness, slurs, etc on a gaming site? This is really distasteful.

OK, are you staying connected to the site? That might cause this behavior.

Staying connected?
Well I go through various threads a lot. But like say your response right now, I didn't get a notification for. I just happened to check just now.
But I don't think I stay connected to it. I just have this set up of links. I have it in order of games freshly started to ones that have been playing for awhile. So like whenever I see I have a mail for one I just click its icon on my bar and I am instantly there.

I set som topics to be watched, but then by the next day they had dissapeared from my list without me doing anything. I'll try adding this thread and see what happens.
[size=75]Note: For those who were curious, playing mafia involves forming rational thoughts and expressing them with, well, sentences. Let's try this in the future.

Yeah, I already made a thread about that... someone needs to get off their ass and do something about that...

I have the same problem as willows_weep.

Yesterday (for the first time) I clicked 'Watch this topic for replies' for 3 topics. When I got home there were several e-mails that there was a reply in one of the watched topics.
I would like to put some topics in my watched topics list, but I do not want to receive e-mails for it. I have the 'Always notify me of replies:' option in my profile set to No since I registered.

I added 3 threads to my watched topics: Harry Potter and 2-threaded from Theme Park and Dirty Rotten Cheater from Mish Mash. I received 2 topic reply notification e-mails for HP and 1 each for 2-thread and DRC. HP had 3 new posts, DRC 2 and 2-thread 8, so I do not get one for each post, but only occassionally.

You only get one reminder per thread until you log in again. Clicking the link in the mail takes you to that post... which should be the first unread post.

I'm actually having the opposite problem; I get all the emails, all the time, even though I have turned off the option to be emailed in my Profile.

My Watched Topics page is correct, and I always go there to see new posts, so that's not the problem. It's just that I check from several different computers, so the emails don't really do me any good. I get home and just have to delete everything in my Mafia folder. I could set up a /dev/null rule, but is this a known problem?

Edit: According to this thread, it is.

You get the e-mails when you add things to your watched topics. No way around it, yet.

Okay, thanks. At least I know it's not something I'm doing wrong.
