Chess thread has disappeared

Darkblade's chess thread has disappeared after I posted in it. Anyway the URL still works: viewtopic.php?p=5246&sid=37990097ab0add ... 4c63b#5246 so it should be fixable. I also posted a thread on it in this forum but it never appeared.

When I used the link in rOver's post, I'm not logged in. When I hit post reply there, the post reply page has a blank for username, in which I typed "Norinely".

I thought you could make guest posts in this forum, or is that just a test forum thing?

Edit: Apparently, posting as guest other places makes a similar error.

it doesn't let you post as unregistered. i've forgotten a few times.... but when you hit back, go to the thread and copy the addy.
log in , go tot he page and then post. things will go back to normal.

It's supposed to give you a nice page telling you that guests can't post in that forum. And it's defined per forum (ex. Help! is a forum...)

I haven't seen mith online in a long time but I'll ask him how he wants the permissions set (I haven't mucked with them on this board.)
