Losing Private Messages

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Sat Aug 30, 2003 2:18 pm

Post by Kelvin »

Some PMs I've sent have failed to arrive or appear in my Sentbox. One this last week (not-sent Sun 24th) to Macros, a couple more 2.5 weeks ago to Totem and Antrax.

Any ideas besides some form of confirmation?

jeep, when does one's Outbox usually send off PMs? Is there a specified interval, or are there particular times during the day. The reason I ask being that I submitted 2 messages morning, and this evening one had sent and one had not. I was just curious about how long would be too long for a PM to have been in my Inbox.

I think I can answer that, Kelvin. PMs go out from your Outbox when the person the PM is addressed to logs on and receives it. (i.e. a PM sent to someone who rarely logs on will take forever to be delivered) This is unlike email in that the PM doesn't actually get "sent" anywhere; it sits until the addressee "picks it up" from your Outbox.
