No posts exist for this topic
Does anybody else ever get this message? It only happens to me when I attempt to go to the next page of a thread, and I haven't quite figured out exactly what causes it yet. At the top, it says Information or something like that and where the messages should appear, it simply says "No posts exist for this topic" What is the cause of this?- SaberKitty

i don't even know why this is a poll.
The "no posts.." message happens when someone deletes thier post. it so, if an extra page is made, and a post deleted- there is still the extra page, but all the posts exist on the previous page. make sense?Hug a snowman, It's a cold world out there!- Scalebane

In NM9, I've had the thread disappear several times because of players posting while not logged in. Are these two problems related? On the old board, I seem to remember being unable to evencrafta post unless I was logged in. It certainly would cut down on the missing threads if that were the case once again.Remember...It's not a lie if you believe it. -- G. Costanza- Dragon Slayer

My Theory:
When someone does a phantom post (not logged in), it causes the thread to drop out and the post never gets posted. I believe that the thread counter is going up even though the post gets lost somewhere. When you delete a post, the forum knows to drop the count, but the phantom post, being buggy already, does count towards the number of posts.
For example: In Newbie Mafia 5, the thread has been lost twice and when we near the end of the page, two more posts are needed to clear the "No posts" error.Last edited by Fishbulb on Fri Jan 09, 2004 5:41 am, edited 1 time in total.Fishblog!- jeep

possile. I might look into this.
I've done a resync on all forums. In theory it should fix this problem, but it didn't in the old board. I'd be interested in seeing if the problem is essentially gone now... Yes, I could check the stored count against the actual count, but it's getting late here.

hmm well this just happened to me while I was trying to look at my posts from when I first arrived here. There seems to only be one page of it though it says I have 7.
I know I had signed up for modship somewhere before and I was trying to retrace and find it but seems I can't...What is the point of using foul language, downright rudeness, slurs, etc on a gaming site? This is really distasteful.

how about when I am trying to look back at my previous posts?
Like when you clock on someones name and go to their profile and you want to look at all of their posts. I only get the first page even if it says there are like 7 pages when I read the first and try to go to the second or any other behind the first I get that no post message...What is the point of using foul language, downright rudeness, slurs, etc on a gaming site? This is really distasteful.

I have no problem with it. If you need help, PM me with all the details of your system:
OS; Browser type, version, cipher strength; cookies enabled, disabled, or otherwise blocked/eaten?; exact steps you take to replicate the problem; and, in case I need to log in as you, a password that you'd want me to set your account to have when I'm done. You might lose ability to log in for a few minutes while I try to replicate the problem, but after that I'd set your password to the one you sent to me.
