caught in the spamtrap

I've figured out why I wasn't getting site notifications. (actuallyl I figured this out last week, but
since it had been partially repaired (by removing the MAILER-DAEMON from addresses), I wasn't going to post about it until it reoccured, which it does in board notifications).

Spamassassin is giving fairly high scores (ie, 6, above the default threshold) to mafiascum board notifications. This is a Bad Thing, since the notifications are, I suspect, a lot of what lets people know to check the board, and I -highly- doubt I'm the only Spamassassin user among our userlist (and other spamblocks will probably catch this too, though a bayesian filter may eventually figure out that these aren't spam).

Here are the tests we're currently failing; all but the PORN_4 test seem pretty reparable:

Content analysis details: (6.00 points, 5 required)
NO_REAL_NAME (0.7 points) From: does not include a real name
INVALID_DATE (0.6 points) Invalid Date: header (not RFC 2822)
TO_MALFORMED (1.1 points) To: has a malformed address
EXCUSE_1 (0.1 points) BODY: Gives a lame excuse about why you were s\ent this spam
PORN_4 (2.6 points) URI: URL uses words and phrases which indicate\ porn (4)
MISSING_OUTLOOK_NAME (0.9 points) Message looks like Outlook, but isn't

So fixing whatever is triggering the MISSING_OUTLOOK_NAME test, the dates, adding a name onto the From, and fixing the To header will cause us to drop down to 2.7, a score that most spamassassin filters should let through...

I've added mith to my whitelist, but should still be able to see the scores we're getting...

Didn't I tell people that messages were being caught by spam filters? Doesn't everyone carefully read and memorize everything I write?!? ;)

Anyway, I think I know how to fix it and will do so in the test board and then I'll move all the test code over to the live site soon.
