Announcements Not Getting Read

All of the universal Announcement topics don't get read when I read them. If there's a new post and I click "first unread", it takes me to the OP. Is this just me?

No, it's a known bug within Global Announcements.

This does not happen with me. Does it have anything to do with my browser (firefox)?

Not as far as I know - it seems to be internal to the board (I use FF, and get it 8 times out of 10).

Sometimes this happens to me, sometimes it doesn't. I've found that if you keep trying from different forums, eventually one will actually take you to the first unread post - maybe which forum goes to first unread is related to which forum the first unread post was posted from, or something like that (for instance, if I get to the GA from MD, but the first person to post since I last read the topic got to it from Help!, it'll go to the OP, but if I get to it from Help!, it'll go to the first unread post).

I'm pretty sure the logic is "Only moderators - global moderators - admins should be making or posting in announcements, it won't ever be a problem".

Which is silly because EVERYONE COMMENTS ON NON-BAN GA THREADS
Not everyone but I made my point: that's a half-explanation.

I just had the opposite problem: the Scummies 2016 ceremony thread was marked as read, but I hadn't read it. (I also don't remember using any "mark all posts read" feature or the like recently, although I guess it's possible and I just forgot about it.)
