504 Fever

Is there any determinable cause/remedy for the 504s that have been popping up quite a bit recently?

I keep getting this, and I noticed it's especially when I try to post something:

504 Gateway Time-out

I've been getting SQL errors as well if that helps...

I've also gotten a few SQLs over the last few weeks, but nowhere near as many as the 504s.
