The opening is easy. Now the middle and endgame...

The moment you played e6 I pulled out my book on gambits, and found the milner-barry. Not much to it.

But yes, I love gambits because they keep the game open and tactical. Positional play and strategy is definitely my weakness, even after reading "How to Reassess Your Chess", " Weapons of Chess " and I'm currently on "The Complete Book of Chess Strategy" by Jeremy Silman.

How long have you been playing chess? What's your repertoire?

Well I'm 15 and I've been playing since I was 6 so 9 years. As white I used to play e4 but trying to migrate to a c4 opening. Against some people I know I've been known to play the Polish opening of b4.

As black I play Dragon Sicilian, French, Nimzo Indian, or Semi-Slov depending on tune move and my opponent. I'm fluent in most opening lines and their theories, so if something is unfamiliar I can just go off of theory.

Ouch. I appear to be outmatched. That's fine. I trust (hope?) that I know this specific position better than you.

Anyway, I checked, so here are my ratings:
Bullet - 1062
Blitz - 1124
Rapid - 1234

I was very much mistaken.

I tend to dislike most common gambits. I tend to like positions that are closed but ready to explode. Nimzo Indian is one of my favorite openings to play as it is closed up but as soon as there is one pawn trade play seems to go super swiftly.

You can play it now or a move or two later, no difference as it's check, so yes.

Uh. I didn't see this move. Thought maybe Ba4. I'll have to take a think here if you don't mind.

I think that might be a wasted move, though not necessarily too bad.
I think the line goes either 13. Qxa4 OR 13. Rxb7.
I might be wrong though. Either way...

Damn wow, that's a really good move. I had a line in mind for Rb8, but that would be super passive anyway.

I think I'm a lot worse now. Back into the think tank.

I was thinking Bb5 Bx Rx comes with a punch against the c5 bishop but that's off the table now.

I thought the following line:

Fascinated as to what you saw wrong with Be7.

Anyway I'm really tempted to snap Nxh7 but it's safer to stop and calculate the new lines, so this'll still take a while.
