i mean look at the setup

every role has equal chance to be town and scum, no matter what abilities

slight tweaks are made but its not insane to have a loved mafia member

This is actually why I was curious to hear your answer.

Sorry you had to jump into my spot, S_S. Wish I'd done a little bit less beforehand, I suppose, but I did actually think I could make this game work for a while. Nice job, though.
Wish I could have stayed around; setup seemed pretty fun, esp. Sky's role.

Will be around a little later to talk more, esp. about that message that showed up early D1. There was a pretty spectacular set of coincidences there that threw me for a total loop. Will explain more when I've got the energy.

okay you know what I feel like I need to explain it now actually

So, going into this (before I knew that anyone else had anonymous messages) I had a pretty good feeling that town!me would immediately try to use the role to get into contact with some sort of investigative PR and just out reports anonymously until GG.
Something along those lines. I figured in a communication-based setup there'd almost certainly be some sort of neighborizer sitting around, so my plan was pretty much to use it pretty close to the start of day 1 with some sort of placeholder message to let people know that some sort of anonymous-messaging role was in the game, then stop for the rest of the day and crumb stuff related to it until someone who hopefully wasn't evil figured it out.

the problematic thing was
the placeholder message that I was going to use
was actually a placeholder emergency broadcast message
specifically one related to a nuclear launch

SO
day starts
I get an interview request from Seal pretty much at start of day (didn't at the time think that it was sent in advance)
think "okay, perfect, this is exactly what town!me would want, if Seal's evil I can probably let it slip at some point that he knows about my role so if I somehow die N1 everyone can probably figure out the reason"
so I claimed to Seal and basically explained my plan

later that day
right after I claimed
an anonymous message shows up
signed by a "TOM"
which was the abbreviation Seal used to refer to me throughout all of my first game
and which specifically referenced a nuclear launch
before I had the opportunity to post my message

I 100% thought Seal had an anonymous message
and had for whatever reason used his to preempt my message/plan
that's exactly what it looked like based on the circumstances

moreover, because at this point I essentially "knew" about 3 different sources of anonymous messages in the game
I started wondering
"okay"
"what is the chance that every single person in this game actually has an anonymous message"
"does scumSeal with a message like that effectively reveal his to me under those circumstances before I even show my own ability"
"especially given the fact that from his point of view if we're the only two with messages it'd probably be more valuable to try to contradict my own messages later on, especially if I get in touch with a PR"
"probably not"
"what does this even gain"
"am I just being messed with"
"what on earth is going on"

Anyway, GG all.
Was probably a bad /in from me, but it really did look manageable at the time.
In retrospect, though, I can 100% say that based on the past two weeks it was probably a good idea to let someone else take over.
Will probably be around again in the future. Maybe soon, depending on how things shape up.
