Every mechanic you add to vanilla mountainous/vanilla nightless negatively impacts standard mafia/dayplay. But it adds some type of fresh variety to the game. The key is to figure out how to add mechanics that are meaningful and harm vanilla mountainous/nightless as little as possible.

CoC needs work to mitigate its "harms"


I haven't read this game, but this revision is significantly more townsided than previous versions of Chain of Command, and we had caveat/knowledge that it might not be enough, and scum still won. That's how a tuning process can go.

I think a version of CoC with a heavy emphasis on killing roles would be a promising direction for the setup to go due to the way getting an order to kill player X can work out.
