This is the partner tell that I'm referring to. Basically HEM is overly conscious about the way he interacts with his partner so he tends to overcompensate. For example, in Blitz II he constantly spoke to his partner (shiki) in a similar way. I'll bring up posts to try to make the point clearer.

With regard to 179, if they were going for theatre strategy, I don't think holden would have town read him there and up to that point.

Scum Bugs is concerned optics and so makes an effort to appear in thread, and displays a sense of self-consciousness over their reads. This leads to excessive use of phrases such as "my dumb tinfoil brain," "brain worm," and the like. They use these phrases as both alignments, but as scum it's excessive and used to deny accountability for their mispushes. Another thing is that they have a high fluff-to-content ratio as scum. As town, their posts are more succinct and serious and they don't care about their reads making them look bad.

I think him not deviating from targeting Pork will confirm it one way or the other. If he targets Pork and they both live, he is probably scum. The scenario that Pork and Gobbles are the scum team doesn't exist. So the only other scenario where we get the wrong idea is if they are both town and scum decided not to kill Pork, in which case it doesn't matter because they trade an extra mislynch.

If you died and Gobbles didn't, he could claim that he actually hid behind someone else or didn't use his role and only claimed he was going to hide behind you as a gambit because he wanted to see if mafia would kill you. Alternatively, if you didn't die, he could also claim the same thing and use to conclude that you are mafia for not being killed.

Again, none of this went through my head, but I would like to say that the second line is incorrect: 1 because I admire you and you know that. You see things that the average person wouldn't see (like the pattern of holden posting after you). 2 based on how unfair you are to yourself, I'd say you have a distorted self-image. I know this is probably not something you can easily overcome, but logically you can work out that your perspective is distorted yes? No person can view themselves in an objective manner. We need others to be our mirror. Based on the fact that you're so highly appreciated by others can you deduce that your worth is much greater than you are able to see from your particular vantage point?

the points against popopopopopopo feel weaker to me. i guess i don't understand what you mean by speculative vs factual, but the way i weigh them against eachother is that porkens readslist post felt like it was a more deliberate effort to give off a certain impression. i relate to the impetus behind popopopopopopo's desire for content posts but it seemed an illogical possibly mafia indicative way of going about it. the impetus behind porkens post was more of the issue to me.

The points on porken are speculative because they are prescribing scum motivation to a town behavior (posting content is a town behavior regardless of alignment). However, his motivation could just as easily be a town one. It's our job to help each other town read each other so that we can come to an understanding and work together to lynch scum. If Porkens continued to play in a scummy manner, he would have forced Gobbles to waste his shot on him when it could have better been used elsewhere.

The points on po are factual because they don't force a motivation to his behavior. The first point describes a contradiction: he implied a desire for more activity but was not making an effort to produce content. This requires no speculation into his motivation because we know that a town person will have a consistent train of thought—even if it is not apparent to us initially, questioning should lead to an underlying consistency. Scum, however, will have to make plays in order to win that open themselves up to being inconsistent. The second point is also factual: he refuses to explain himself. This is objectively against town's win-condition as I described in the point above regarding Porkens.

I think the Farside + Porkens association is possibly correct. Porkens changed his demeanor when I began question Farside and asking her about him. Additionally, Gobs believes that Farsi and Bugs are the team. If bugs flips town, this looks good for Farsi. And Porkens is attempting to make it look bad for me despite the obvious conclusion being that bugs flipping scum increases my scum equity. Porkens push here feels reactionary to my questioning and possibly a chainsaw of Farsi.

Hmm I actually don't think it's strong enough to eliminate, but I think it's less likely than not. But actually it looks like Inu is the only living player that popop has not voiced an opinion on or initiated an interaction with. So this pairing is possible.

Your post there indicates that your bugs push is coming from a sincere place. It is possible, however, that this sincerity comes from the interaction being SvS. So if we are in a town!bugs scenario, then you are town in my book, which means you can't be scum with anyone other than bugs. However, working through this, it occured to me that you are not scum with bugs either because I agree with Inu in that there's probably not just 1 PR, so you can be eliminated from the PoE completely.

Yes! So under what circumstance would scum!Gobbles assume that the claim was a lie and continue to push bugs? If Pork was his scummate or if bugs was his scummate. The latter isn't the case because of then only 1 PR, and the former isn't the case because of how Gobbles reacted. "OK so let's lynch bugs" is not a scummate reaction! It's a town tunnel reaction.

Pork was just ahead of the curve (behind Farsi and Gobbs) in scumreading bugs. At the point of his read, I don't think bugs was on the chopping block so his position looks natural. Porky also put bugs at L-1 today and claimed that if bugs flipped scum I would be clear. If they were scum together, this would unnecessarily be clearing me.
