Voting Rules

Spoiler:

• Votes must be

  or put in VOTE: tags. Unbolded votes will never be counted. Abbreviations and typos will be counted at the mod’s discretion, but do not test me.
  
• Unvoting is helpful but not unnecessary.
  
• Once a majority is reached during the day, a lynch occurs.

• If there is no majority at deadline, the player with the most votes will be lynched. • Twilight begins once a majority is reached. Votes after the lynch vote will not be counted, although players who are alive (including the player just lynched) may still post in-thread.
  
• Once your death has been acknowledged by me, you may not post in-thread until after the game is over.

Deadlines, Night, and Actions

Spoiler:

• Day deadlines will be approximately one week. Night deadlines will be approximately 48 hours. Deadlines will be included in the VCs, although changes to deadlines partway through the day/night render earlier deadlines obsolete.
  
• You must post at least once every 48 hours unless you have stated you are V/LA. If you do not, you will receive a prod. You do not want to get prodded. I reserve the right to do anything to you if you need to be prodded more than once. Prod dodges may as well not exist.
  
• No submitted night action means no night action. The exception is with compulsive roles, which will have a randomly determined target if no night action is submitted.
  
• Night actions are resolved using Natural Action Resolution unless otherwise specified.

This game uses the Cult Vengeful setup.

Special Rules:

• The cult cannot kill at all.
  
• If, on Day 1 only, one of the townies is lynched, this townie gets to make a Vengeful kill that night. This kill occurs before the cult recruitment in action resolution.
  This means that the Cult Recruiter will not know who is Vengekilled before submitting the recruitment order.
  
  
• In the case that the cult wins on Night 1, only the Cult Recruiter wins. The townie recruited to the cult at night does not win.

You win when the Cult is eliminated and at least one Town-aligned player is still alive, or nothing can prevent the same.

Win Condition

You win when the number of players aligned with the Cult equal at least half of the number of living players (rounded up) and at least one Cult-aligned player is still alive (or nothing can prevent the same).

The denizens of Moderateburg were rather enjoying their pleasant coastal existence in their little town. They quite loved their fishing and farming, and semi-regularly attended their local Church of Blah services. The presider, N. Eutral, was quite inoffensive, if occasionally boring during his lengthy sermons, an immoderate amount of which seemed to be about moderation.

The population grew slightly with the arrival of a small group of drifters over the course of a month. It did not take long for the inhabitants of Moderateburg to notice that some of their neighbors were acting a little strange and saying weird things. Some of the town members were making waves, and not the good ones, like when a boat rocks as the fishers are pulling up their nets. These were ideological waves, the likes of which the dull town had never seen.

The unconscionable had happened: a covert missionary from the Extremean cult had arrived in town, hoping to spread his extremist filth. The drifters were immediately suspected, and ultimately quarantined out of fear of religious contagion. The only chance the unconverted ones had was to identify and kill the insidious demagog that had come to spread evil among the simple-minded rural populace.

So began the most dramatic chapter in the uneventful history of Moderateburg...
