6 Town Neighbors

Game-Specific Rules
(see ruleset in the next post for additional rules info):

* Normal lynch mechanics
* Everyone is paired into neighborhoods, including the mafia.
* Each neighborhood shares a single vigilante shot at night. If one neighbor in a pair dies, the remaining neighbor loses the ability to shoot.
* Only difference from the Wiki article is that mafia do not have a 1-shot roleblocking ability this time around.
* Mafia members get to choose a target and if all the neighborhoods don't shoot, the mafia target gets shot.
* Neighbors have to agree on their target. if your neighborhood partner says "I will shoot X" and you say "Okay, I'm good with that," then it goes through.
* All Neighborhoods have daytalk. Mafia have daytalk.

Voting & Lynches

1 Please vote in bold (Vote: Fuzzy) or use the vote tags (VOTE: Fuzzy).
2 Please unvote in bold (Unvote:) or use the unvote tags (UNVOTE: ).
3 You do not have to unvote before re-voting, but I would appreciate it if you did.
4 A lynch will occur when more than half the players are voting for someone.
5 A no-lynch will occur when more than half the players are voting for no-lynch.
6 Once a player is lynched, it will be twilight. You may still post as long as you were not lynched.
7 Once I post the post a flip for a player after the night officially ends and open the thread back up, then the next day begins.
8 At the day's end when the day's deadline has been reached, a no-lynch will occur if no more than half the players are voting for a player.

Posting & Communications

1 The Mod colors are red and green. You may only use these two colors if and only if you are not impersonating the moderator. If you are unsure whether or not your usage of these colors is breaking the rules, just pick another color!
2 You may PM me at any time and ask me anything (i.e. to get a rule clarification).
3 Do not quote PMs from me of any kind.
4 No out-of-thread-discussion is allowed unless I specifically allow it.
5 After you are dead, you may have one bah post that contains no content whatsoever.
6 You may not post after a lynch scene or flip, no matter the circumstances (e.g. thread is left unlocked following lynch scene or flip).
7 Players cannot delete or edit any posts.
8 The thread will be locked under these circumstances: (1) after a lynch has been confirmed and a flip has been revealed or is in the process of being revealed. (2) the night phase is underway or ongoing. (3) Pre-game while the thread is being set-up, or post-game while final edits are being made.

Activity & Deadlines

1 Each game day will last 10 days. Nights will last 48 hours.
2 If at any point in the game a deadline is reached, and no player has enough votes to be lynched, then there will automatically be a no-lynch.
3 If you do not post within a 48 hour period (and have not declared a V/LA status), you will receive a prod.
4 If you do not post within 36 hours of a PM prod, you will be replaced, unless you post before I find a replacement.
5 If you have declared V/LA, you will be exempted from a prod during that time.
6 Flavor is just flavor.

Setup


6 Town Neighbors
You are a Town Neighbor. You have your voice and your vote. Here is your QT for you and your neighbor. You have daytalk and thus may speak to your neighbor privately during the day and night.

Your neighbor is XXXX. You do not know the alignment of your neighbor.

Each neighborhood shares a single vigilante shot at night. If one neighbor in a pair dies, the remaining neighbor loses the ability to shoot. Neighbors have to agree on their target. If your neighborhood partner says "I will shoot X" and you say "Okay, I'm good with that," then it goes through.

You are aligned with town and win when only members of the town remain. Please confirm your alignment and role via PM once you receive your role.
2 Mafia Neighbors
You are a Mafia Neighbor. You have your voice and vote. Here is your Mafia QT with XXXX. Each night, you and your mafia partner XXXX may choose a target and if all the neighborhoods don't shoot, the mafia target gets shot. You have daytalk.

Your neighbor is YYYY. Here is your QT for you and your neighbor. You have daytalk and thus may speak to your neighbor privately during the day and night.

You win when you make up 50% of the town or when nothing can prevent your controlling the town from happening. Please confirm your alignment and role via PM once you receive your role.

Could you explain this? I didn't give it much thought in the marathons, but my general experience with neighbour/lover pairs games says it's better to claim, the reason being that scum can eventually figure out the pairs and use them to their advantage

, so it's better to make town aware of them too.
Because they just have to target one of each pair to eliminate the NKs and can risk leaving the other alone because they only have a vote, but no NK (if they take down two people from different pairs they take out two NKs and two votes, whereas if they take out two from the same pair they only get rid of one NK and two votes). As it is, presuming we have two Mafia-Town pairs they may not want to kill their partner because then they can't persuade them into a NK and if they do kill their partner then they get no info on the pairs outside of theirs. If they are Mafia-Mafia then they have no information on the other pairs at this stage and so revealing them also serve no purpose other than making NKs easier to target. Do you get what I am saying here?

Whoops. Missed a vote, didn't mean for it to be L-1.

Read back through the other 4 games of this, and here is what I found:

3 games where neighbor hoods were revealed - 2 scum wins 1 town win
1 game where they weren't revealed - 1 scum win

Limited data on this makes it difficult to decide based on past games, but I agree with wis's ideas, so I vote yes on neighbor claim.

I don't agree, all of that will happen anyway. The advantage to town knowing is that they then can detect possible manipulation in regards to what targets their neighbor wants to kill.
