GENERAL RULES

3) You may not discuss this game anywhere outside the game thread unless specifically allowed by your role PM. In such case, a PT will be provided and you may not discuss your game outside the game thread and/or the PT.
4) Be civil and treat other players with respect--attack the case, not the person. Mafia is a heated game, but I will interfere if anyone resorts to excessive insults, personal attacks, and bullying. There is a zero-tolerance policy against offensive comments or slurs based on race, gender, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc.

6) Quoting or pretending to quote your role PM, PTs, or private communications with the mod is strictly forbidden. Loose paraphrasing is permitted, although run it past me first when in doubt.
7) Punishment for breaking any of the rules here listed, or exploiting any loopholes may include a private or public warning, force replacement, modkill, or even blacklisting (depending on the seriousness of the offence).
8) I am not perfect, and vote counts may not be either. If you find and discrepancies, please let me know in thread by using

9) If you have outside information that influences your knowledge of the game, are aware of someone else having outside information, or have any reason to believe that the game has been compromised, it is your responsibility to inform the mod via PM immediately. I will love you for your honesty.

SPECIFIC RULES

1) There are 4 Townies and 2 Mafia Lovers.
2) If any Lover is killed, their Lover will immediately commit suicide.
3) This is a Nightless setup and there are no night kills.
4) Town wins when all Lovers are dead.
5) Mafia wins when there are only 2 Townies left.

Voting/Lynching

1) For your vote or unvote to be counted, it must be completely bolded, ie VOTE: kirroha BBC code to do so is:

2) Votes for misspellings or acronyms of players' names (such as VOTE: Playrname or VOTE: PN) are valid as long as the player being voted for is clear. You are not required to unvote before changing your vote. However, votes that are behind spoiler tags, in small or invisible text, or otherwise concealed are invalid.
3) You may vote for a No Lynch using the voting parameters listed above.
4) A lynch will occur when 50%+1 of the votes are cast for the same player; a No Lynch will occur wen 50% of the votes are cast for that option. When this has happened, any subsequent votes and unvotes will not be counted, and the game will enter twilight.
5) You may continue talking after a lynch or deadline has elapsed until the mod posts to end the day. After that, you may not post even if the mod forgets to lock the thread.
6) I will try to post a vote count at least every weekday. Vote counts can be requested at any time.

Activity and Day/Night Phases

1) Days will have a deadline of (2) two weeks. Deadline extensions will be granted only in extreme circumstances, and will never exceed one (1) week of the total length of the day phase.
2) Players will be prodded after forty-eight hours without posting. They may also request prods on other players so long that player has not posted for a reasonable amount of time. All prods will be announced in thread.
3) Players who do not respond to a (non-player-requested) prod within twenty-four hours or need to be prodded too often will be replaced at the discretion of the mod.
4) If you will be unable to post for over forty-eight hours, inform the mod by PM or in the thread of when you'll be V/LA. Assuming the V/LA period is of reasonable length, you will be exempt from prods during that time. All V/LA notifications will be made public by the mod.
5) Once you're dead, you are allowed one 'bah' post in thread with no game-related infomation other than "Bah, go town".

Also, as a note, this is not a normal game I play. I usually like games as bastard, PRs, and fun swinginess. I'm not good at scum hunting. I'm 3/3 as scum on this site, but 0/2 as town. My reads are always wrong. So I just wanted to let you all know that I'm using this barebone type game as a learning experience as well. Not that it matters to you, just a heads up as I finally rolled town again.

Meh, my feelings were pretty clear though. No idea why it's got Smart leaning-Scum on me but I'm sure he'll figure that out. Personally, I didn't like the post at all. I've modded you once now - one of your Scum wins in case you've forgotten - and I closely followed Micro 573 (or whatever-it-was) where you and Smart imploded with the rest of your Town. Your opening post here feels infinitely more like your fake Dayvig in my Micro 590, and Smart seems to already be forcing connections to fabricate a leaning-Scum read on me after one post.

Using the word "doubtcasting" seems to imply to me that I was being subtle about something, in this case, my dislike of his post. I wasn't being subtle about it at all, and in general, I'm not in the habit of being subtle about anything.

And it was worth noting because I doubt his intentions for posting it were entirely ingenuous. Seems like it was meant as

1)

a way to attempt to pseudo-confirm himself via meta ("I'm gonna suck this game because I'm Town again, sorry")

2)

a preemptive strike against any argument that his play in this game is bad or antiTown by calling out his past bad performance as Town - this is related to (1), and maybe

3)

a way to allow himself to lapse in contribution or activity throughout the game ("I'm using this game as a learning experience, I don't need to take the foreground; I don't require a leadership role so please don't insist on involving me").

Take your pick from the above really, and yeah it could be reading into things but it's as good a place to start as any. I don't see anybody in a positive Town mindset posting 3 along with their confirmation: if he's Scum, saying or even implying any of the above (which I think he did in 3) is an early out for him in this game. He can point back to it for every mistake he makes. If he's Town he shouldn't be sitting on his 2 losses and moaning about this premature prediction for poor performance in this game, he should be doing the opposite (e.g. "I haven't won as Town yet, so I'm ready to take a leadership role and reevaluate past in-game habits of mine and catch and lynch Scum and win the fuck out of this game" etc.).

I'm a big fan of mindset-hunting, so tell me where any of my interpretation is off, or tell me where you see it coming from Town in their first post.

I absolutely see the town mindset there. To an extent, I share it myself. He knows he's not good as town and doing what you suggested (saying "this game I'm going to be amazing) is fooling himself. To me it feels like a "my reads this game are probably going to be wrong" and that won't affect his motivation, which still should be readable. Rather it will make people less likely to listen to him, which would make it harder for him to push mislynches as scum. I don't think he's trying to qualify lower activity (that would be scummy).

I agree wth maestro. There was a definite intention behind that post. There was no reason to say it unless it hoped with out stack the deck in his favour. Moves like thet are calculated and considering the same game sizzle we cannot afford to make a mistake. Such a move threatens the town. Therefore, I question a scum motive as well because such an antic benifits the scum rather then the town.

I think his logic is sound. Therefore I believe he plays like me. Whether people know it or not is not my concern. We have never played before therefore I did not know it. You attempt then to predisposition players into your meta. That is something I do not appreciate.
