Welcome Backstage, Actors. You've now surmised that this isn't an ordinary game of Mafia. To be fair, it's not
The first thing you do,
Any player may post a script in the format above at any time before the day starts, but we'll only use the last one that was posted. So it'd be best if you're in agreement about what goes up. (If a Script is not chosen by the Actors, I will randomly determine a Script and post it Backstage as Day 1 opens.) The Script is pretty important because it will be your roadmap to the rest of the game. All 10 spots will be filled by Actors, so at the end of the game, there will only be Townies remaining.
It's up to you to ensure that the players listed on the script die in the order listed on the Script. In fact, it's one of your two necessary win conditions. The Night departures will be fairly easy - that player will simply "die" that night. However, for the Day departures, it's up to you to make sure the right person is lynched. After all, if you lot end up lynching the wrong person, you immediately and irrevocably lose, so don't let that happen. Part of your skill in the game will be guiding the Townies to the correct lynch without giving up the ruse.
At all times, each of you are wearing a
Fortunately, you've got a pretty nice wardrobe department at your disposal. They have in stock the materials for Town costumes and Mafia costumes, along with some modifiers to go with each. Taken from the Normal role availability section of the Wiki, they are as follows:
You may select any of the above roles as your Mask, optionally along with any modifier,
(As an aside, you may not change your mask once you have been lynched. I will use timestamps of the final lynching vote to determine priority, should it come to that.)
Should you correctly Follow the Script, then by the end of Night 5, the only players left in the game will be the three Townies, xRECKONERx, Flames682, and farside22. At that point, they will each and separately be sent a PM which says:
Townie Twist PM wrote:
Please read this PM carefully, as your win condition has changed.
It turns out this game is not quite what you thought. The question you're about to answer is now the sole determiner of whether you win or lose. So, tell me...
What was the Twist in this game?
Please think carefully upon your answer, and PM it to me within the next 72 hours. Your answer will be judged by an independent panel based on a prepared rubric. All will be revealed soon.
I have selected three wise people to judge the Townies' responses, and given them a rubric by which to assess them. If two or more Townie responses are judged to be correct, then the Actors lose (though it will have been quite a show getting there!). If two or more Townie responses are judged to be incorrect, then you have pulled off one heck of an acting job, and will be declared winners.
As a quick rundown (and not a substitution for reading the above):
- Before Day 1 begins, the Actors must decide upon a Script.
- The Actors must "die" in the order set out in the Script as established pre-game. Night deaths will be automatic, but lynches must be orchestrated in thread. It will look like a normal Mafia game to any random passerby.
- Actors are all wearing Townie Masks right now. However, you may change your Mask at any time before your death by PM to me. Your Mask determines how you appear in thread once dead.
- By the end of Night 5, exactly two Masks must be Mafia Masks.
- At the end of Night 5, the three Townies will attempt to guess what the Twist in the game was. If you can make it this far, and fool at least two of them, you win!
Now, break a leg!
