I disagreed with that part of the post, feels like a really random association to make but I don't think it comes from both scum and town. But I think she is town right now for pointing out how town slips aren't really town indicative. It's a ballsy move to make since it can easily be interpreted as something like "scum being annoyed town are being found for the wrong reasons" or something like that.
