Randomizing the scum. This is my usual method, and (in this setup) uses a d7 and a d6. The first roll will specify the first scum, numbering from 1 at the top of the list down to 7 at the bottom. Then that scum's effectively deleted from the list, keeping the rest of the list in the same relative order, and the second dice roll finds the second scum out of the remaining 6 players.
