I don't hate chatzies
That alliance's downfall is a hilarious infamous story. It's Eldin and Tetra's story of victory, so in the edit the Cat Party are the villains those two had to overcome. Most of the people being cut have good stories but how many can say they were part of a game-losing apocalypse?

Gonna have to disagree with you xof. Well-liked by a majority of the game does not equal a compelling character; Barinade was the Amber Brkich to Epona and Navi's Jerri Manthey. There's little that defines the character outside of being vaguely positive. This isn't a rankdown of how well people played the game.

I think there's some inherent bias of "I was in that game and he was my ally so I know he's an interesting character" which is kinda icky

As a viewer, barinade was okay, but completely overshadowed by most everyone else around so I found it hard to find him compelling when everyone else was incredibly interesting and he just seemed like cannon fodder or a goat.

I just read through my rankings of that game. I'm not seeing that he was all that great through that.
Although I also don't think I had very good images of what was actually going on. Possibly why I haven't done power rankings since that first game I spectated.

fwiw i think the chatzy alliance core three of epona/navi/skull are all great characters i just think barinade is.....not

If we're going to pick on xof for booting shadow after she asked for it I did the same thing for people, and it's perfectly fine to save her boyfriend's character if she thinks it was a good one. I mean, she liked it enough to save it, I trust xof to be impartial about whether it was jelly.
